The Kiosk has been renovated and updated! So should the rating be! Kiosk is known as THE vendor of coffees and snacks at train stations. If you want to get a cup of coffee 2go on the train while running late, you are doomed to get it at Kiosk, as only they have their little shops at the platforms. If you think platform of a train station, you think Kiosk. So there is also one at Station Amsterdam Amstel. It used to be an average Kiosk, with so so coffee from a machine, lot’s of unhealthy snacks and some baked off breads. With their new shop at Amsterdam Amstel they have embarked upon a new and better road. Coffee is most important during your train travels, so let’s look at that first. They now have a very impressive new coffee machine. Whereas their former machine produced a Cappuccino with 1 push on a button(this can not be good), their new machine makes espresso with fresh beans while the milk is freshly and by hand foamed up at the meantime. When taking my first sip, I was convinced was going to be addict. For the price of 2,30 I really go for a Kiosk latte in stead of one of the competition downstairs(3,70). Let’s talk about the snacks. Although there is still a variety of sugar filled stuff, Kiosk also now offers various healthy granola bars, sandwiches, freshly baked yummie cookies and organic snacks. Besides this all, the shop is now situated in a new waiting area, where you can sit down an enjoy whatever you bought at Kiosk while waiting for the train. And lastly, the people working here can handle the morning rush hour stress and ALWAYS make sure you get you cup of coffee before the train leaves. And if you miss the train, they always say: «I will bring you to wherever you have to be by bike.» Bold, because you will never miss a train without your coffee. I am very happy with the new Kiosk.
