Coffeeshop The Blues Brothers

Simply put THE WORST customer service in town!
If you want to be charged premium prices for shit service this is your place.
I ordered a coffee (espresso) and asked for it to be pressed as I didnt see the last 3 espressos being pressed properly (not pressing it means you’re getting coffee remains in your cup) and the barista just yelled at me in broken english «YOU THINK I DONT KNOW HOW MAKE COFFEE!!!»
So yeah, im never coming back to this place AND im gonna keep telling this story as long im alive to keep people OUT.
Just because theyre in a good spot they think they’ll have customers for life. Fuck them.

The selection is ok. I asked for the LA confidential and the guy gave me all shake and crumbs, no buds. Tall bald dude is rude, doesn’t seem happy with his job and takes it out on paying customers. Now I just stop by to smoke a joint I bought somewhere else. I stay at the bar where people are nice. Don’t even bother walking upstairs.

Ever been to a dutch «coffee shop»? I have and whoa that dutch weed is crazzzyyyyy! Walking around Amsterdam super high in The rain was so fun and comical at the same time.
Pretty much downstairs is a bar and upstairs is where the magic happens, you buy your weed and theres complimentary joint paper dispensers upstairs and downstairs for you to roll a J, no tobacco (blechh) didn’t notice pipes mainly j’s although theres smoke shops everywhere if you want a pipe. If i wouldn’t have come here first and smoked i probably wouldn’t have found the Anne Frank House (i needed to be enlightened first). Service is soso, weed is fantastic!

I walked by and had to enter when I saw Jake and Elwood on the window. Again, I’m a northern California man, so the quality is not as good as mine. I didn’t have time to go to Utrecht or Harlem, otherwise I would have.

This place is dark on both floors but I like it because sometimes for certain occasions when doing certain things, you don’t want brightness. The brightness is more sensitive to the eyes when doing certain things. This is a coffeeshop that serves more than just coffee, it serves one thing Amsterdam is known for and you can do it in there without being hassled. This place has the image of the cool Blues Brothers on the outside window. I ask for the menu, but she states it is upstairs. The first floor is the bar area. The bar area has liquor but I wouldn’t call it a full bar, it has liquor. There’s seating in back for groups and stools at the bar with a tiny clean bathroom. The background music is not too loud but isn’t tranquil either.
The first thing you get when you walk up the steps is the ordering counter and the menu is laid out right in front of you. The dude behind the counter is pretty friendly. The prices and variety are average, just like all the other coffeeshops, they have the generic breeds like Super Skunk, including ones with odder names. The menu also tells you how strong each is, just like many other places. They don’t have pre-​rolled. At one of the tables that aren’t the most up to date or brand new, I roll. The unfortunate side is the dark upstairs are only these old basic tables and chairs, no couches or nice places to sit, no television. The scene is groups of teenagers playing cards, hanging out and enjoying themselves, typical of most coffeeshops. There’s a vending machine but you can also order beverages and snacks from the front cashier. What lights up the place a little are the windows which you have to stand to look out onto a view of the shoppers and stores on Nieuwendijk. Trying this place once is enough because Amsterdam are full of coffeeshops but I like this place only for it’s low profile, low key, nothing fancy style. You come here just to kick it when rest from shopping is needed because I think this is the closes and only existent coffeshop in the area without walking further away from the stores.
