Stayed: December, 2015. I have always admired the Grupo Habita collection of hotels in Mexico. On a previous visit to Mexico City, having stayed at their purpose-built modernist Habita Hotel, I decided on this second trip to stay at Condesa DF(a renovated historic property). The room I had was compact and nicely designed. Outside my room, I enjoyed the restaurant and lounge on the ground floor, as well as the rooftop bar. If you are looking for a unique place to stay in Mexico City, where you feel like you are living in a mostly residential community(and not staying at a large bland hotel cut-off from reality), than I do recommend staying at Condesa. That said, I find the food served at Condesa is so-so. Many excellent restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, etc., are within easy walking distance.

One stars only for the rooftop, the ambiance is great. The service, however, is particularly terrible. The servers have no idea what is going on and you may have to wait 15 mins for a menu, 15 minutes to order, and another 20 for a drink to arrive. I’m a patient person but I should not have to go the bar, point out my drinks and ask if i can service my own table. I don’t blame the servers, I blame management for not caring. I will come back, never. For the owners: We left to go to another bar to spend out money because the service killed the mood. Lost business.

Their roof top bar is one of the best in Mexico City. A great selection of food and cocktails with a vey confortable setting. Try their bottle of Mezcal !

Was recommended to come and have drinks at their roof top bar. Ambience is classy AF, so it be a little intimidating especially if you show up under dressed but they didn’t give us a hard time at all. This is a definite expat spot, so feel free to order in english if needed. Also expect a crowd of mid 30’s and up. Scenery wise was nothing breathtaking. I think we were only 3 floors up so mostly trees were blocking the view. I ordered the condesa blue, which turned out sweet and useful for chasing my boyfriend’s glass of mezcal! Staff was professional and did not seem overbearing at all, which was greatly appreciated. Not my type of bar, but might be something worth checking out if you’re looking for a classy place to sit outside for a few drinks.

Stayed here in April and it was surprisingly good. Tucked in the chic Condesa district, this hotel is walking distances from tons of restaurants and bars. Location is key here. The service is outstanding. The food is also pretty impressive. I strongly recommend to go to the rooftop lounge and soak in the Mexico City vibe over a nice drink. I wish the rooms had some drawers and/or more space for storage. I had some friends come by for a visit and my clothes was everywhere due to the lack of storage space. Not very practical. For the fitness junkies like myself the hotel does not have a gym in the premises. The hotel has a partnership with Centro Qi, a really good gym, that is located within a 10 min jog. The area is pretty much safe to jog and walk around. If you’re visiting for work I would not recommend this gym as most amenities like iron, storage space, gym, etc are not easily accessible. If you’re visiting for pleasure with your loved one or by yourself I would strongly recommend this place. You can get all romantic in the rooftop while enjoying a mojito or taking a stroll in the park nearby.

5 for view, 1 for pricing, 2 for service. So 2 and a half stars rounded up. So like a said, it’s one of the nicest rooftops I’ve been to in DF. It’s a pretty venue and the inside restaurant is lovely too. The service inside was very nice but he only gave me a water so I can’t really judge too much. The waitstaff on the roof are having too much fun hanging out with each other, they don’t have time for the customers. I ended up just ordering a mimosa and soaked in the nice weather. When my group and I were ready to leave, it took over 30 minutes to get our bill. When I got my bill, I was speechless. $ 180 for 1 mimosa in a champagne flute. Are you kidding?! That translates to about $ 13USD. In my years in Chicago, I don’t think I ever paid that for a average glass of mimosa. Unless I win the lottery, I will not be going back.

After many miles of walking & exploring I decided to walk in for a break. I enjoyed a drink on the terrace bar located on the 4th floor. The ambiance is a simple mid-century modern vibe. The rooftop bar offers a sushi & drink menu. The view overlooks Parque ESPAÑA& the lovely Condesa neighborhood. Perfect place for a date or a small group. They do provide blankets for any cold nights. I would compare this hotel to The Standard hotels in the US. If you’re comfortable in that ambiance you will dig this place. They do offer brunch but this is only at the downstairs resturant. Check their website for more info:

My native Mexican colleague recommended me go there for a light dinner on the roof. OMG– surrounded by the beautiful trees, flowers– reminded me of Kyoto, Hiroo(Arisugawa in Tokyo). I just loved it. This place will be «A must» to go whenever I am in Mexico city on business.

Drinking in Mexico City Mexico City can be a daunting place for tourists, but enter Condesa DF and it will be second nature to sit back and relax. I was in Mexico City on a research trip, so my day normally consisted of walking, walking, and more walking under the beating sun. My friends and I(all 25 of us) decided to go to Condesa DF because we had heard so much Condesa DF’s rooftop bar. The patio seating(with blankets for those cold Mexico nights) were ridiculously comfortable. Located on the 4th floor terraced rooftop, the bar looks out into the city and the nearby park. I had the Mandarin Vodka, which was perfect for my sweet taste buds, and calamari, which was fried to perfection! I would definitely recommend this rooftop bar for small groups or to bring a date. It’s the perfect boutique hotel — trendy yet casual without being flashy or pretentious. Specifically in regards to the rooftop bar, it was reasonably priced when compared to luxury American bars. Absolutely fantastic location! Other spectacular bars within walking distance — both divey and trendy. Condesa DF is a feast for your belly and your eyes!

A sucker for aesthetics, I loved the simple mid-century modern meets minimalist styling of Condesa DF. Anyone who looks for the hipster hotel in their city of travel is sure to enjoy the vibe here. The creative class flourishes(and sleeps) at this open-air, local haunt. The neighborhood is similarly aligned with the indie mentality and within walking distance you’ll find an array of shops and restaurants(quite cool in their finely-tuned grunginess). Daytime walking in this area is great — at night however, it can feel a little on the dark and quiet side(maybe it was just the fact that we ventured out on a Sunday after 9pm in search of tacos). The room was petite but well-executed. Thick wooden panels allow you to close off the entryway and bathroom area to create a studio-like atmosphere. The rainfall shower was nice and the despite being a tight bathroom, I never felt claustrophobic. Access to wifi from my room proved to be a challenge and to get work done, I’d have to go downstairs and occupy a table on the edge of the dining room. It worked well from down there. The rooftop area is awesome and offers a sushi and cocktail menu. After a day of meetings, it was great to take in the view and unwind with a horchata martini or mojito. For the fitness focused, there’s a treadmill and stationary bike for your use. The makeshift exercise area is just that, so don’t expect something extravagant. Overall, this is a great boutique hotel and I’d gladly stay here again.

When you’re greeted with a smooth tequila shot at check-in, you can’t help but like the place. Points to Condesa DF for that smooth maneuver! The goodness continued when I arrived in my well-appointed room to find MALIN+GOETZ bath products and a firm mattressed, white sheet bedecked bed. Don’t miss having a horchata martini at this hip hotel’s rooftop bar but skip the guacamole because their rendition is nothing special. Word(s) to the wise: Wifi doesn’t work well in all rooms and this is not the place if you need a quiet sanctuary. But if you’re down for a little street noise and not here to pound your laptop, book yourself a room!
