People know this place as the defacto go to for comfort noodles with pork. Yes you right. Comfort food made even better with the baptosmal almighty presence of criapy pork bits. This is the best place for crispidy crakily pork bits with noodles. In fact you can even order the criapy pork bits on its own and find out why americans love their crispy bacon jizanthepuz. Its so good that you have to sit by the roadside, in the dark, and even enjoy the local farmland companies in enjoying the fine black tasty noodles with crispy pork bits. Makes you wonder at times; Is the damansara hokkien noodles about the pork topped with noodles, or is it noodles with pork. All we know is, black people eat this and go dyammm.

Damansara Uptown’s Hokkien Mee is probably one of the best hokkien mee’s around. This restaurant is in Uptown Damansara and therefore, its a little difficult to find parking due to the big number of restaurants and limited parking space. DUHK serves hokkien mee as their speciality dish but also have other basic dishes for customers who want something other than hokkien mee. During my visit, I ordered hokkien mee, fried rice, and omelette for 2. The portion size is quite big as one dish was fit for 2 people. The hokkien mee was extremely good. Hot, tasty and satisfying! However, the fried rice was a little bland and the omelette was too oily. All I could taste was oil oozing out from every bite :( Overall, its a decent place for comfort food as its tasty and cheap! I would definitely go back for their hokkien mee more often!

People know this place as the place to go for hokkien mee and I couldn’t agree more however I would also like to point out how amazing their chicken wings are! At rm3 per piece with a minimum order of 2 piece, it is incredibly tasty. Crispy skin and tasty meat compliments any dish you eat there. I also like to eat their fried rice and at rm8.50 it’s pretty reasonable with a decent sized portion. As I’m a rice person I generally would order the fried rice and chicken wings every time I’m there. I’ve also tried their pork noodle soup and while it is a little peppery, it goes really well with my fried rice. They add in some pork fats in the soup to give it a body of flavour just like in the hokkien mee. Parking there may be difficult to find depending on the time. If you go there slightly later at around 8.30 then it shouldn’t be too much of a problem. They have canopy for their tables outside so rain doesn’t affect their business too badly however there still is a lack of tables especially at peak hours.

Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee is one the most famous place for a great meal of Hokkien Mee. They are known for quick service, cooking in large portion and the taste is absolutely fantastic! No worries if you can’t speak in chinese because they communicate well in English and Bahasa, because this is Malaysia yo! And the one thing I like about this place is their crispy pork lard. HAHAHA. Yes I love them! And it’s crispy and crunchy, okay! Hokkien mee for 6 pax is about rm46 when me and my friends were there. Their waiters are always around and quick in ordering your food and it only took about 10 – 15 minutes to wait until the food arrives. They have 2 cooks that cook in a very large portion and devide. This place opens from the evening till 2am, perfect for people who work in long hours. I recommend that you try this place if you are craving for Hokkien mee or have never tried it before!

Hankering for a noodle dish for dinner instead of rice? Pop over to Hokkien Mee at Damansara Uptown. Parking is not always easy but the food is pretty good so that is a good reason to bite the bullet . Hokkien Mee in Damansara Uptown has been established for ages. It’s signature dish is, of course, is the hokkien mee. It is fried exactly the way I like it and you know the«wok hei» is fiery! The noodle texture is good served with generous nce, thick gravy. Not too salty and withsome pork lard. Pork lard adds crunch and flavour to the dish. The cantonese fried yee mee is another favourite. The yee mee is served with smooth and silky egg based gravy. Simply Yummy! Go early to get your table or be prepared to wait.

BESTHOKKIENMEEINDAMANSARAUTAMA! The Hokkien mee here is prepared with nothing more than a wok over a charcoal– fuelled fire. You can really taste the difference between one that is prepared over the conventional gas-fuelled stove. Hokkien mee cannot get more authentic than this! I think the fact that the food at this establishment is prepared by locals ensures the quality and consistency of the food served. They also have really good chicken wings :) Definitely a good place to go to for an authentic Malaysian dish.

In my experience of writing these reviews, perhaps Uptown has the most amount of restaurants/cafes that constantly fight with each other over pseudo titles of the ‘best of the best’. For Restoran Damansara Hokkien Mee, the competition is real. Unlike the smooth texture of the noodles that Tiong offers, Restoran Damansara gives a much robust take on the hokkien mee, which is much smokier in terms of flavour, a taste that is heavily liked by fellow Malaysians. Their take on other noodles, such as the venerable bee hoon and the egg noodles, also has the richer texture in comparison to Tiong’s, and I must confess that I am heavily in love with their egg noodles; it is perhaps the tastiest dish among them all. However, if you are eager to try this restaurant, do come early and book your seats; there are so, so many humans ready to feast on their amazing dishes, and there is such a huge crowd, they need to take three parking lots to put tables on them to cater to more customers. Not the best of places to go if you are not ready to sweat yourself away though, for the smoke and the exhaust from various cars are bound to make your evening or night a smoky one.
