The perfect place to indulge in some good wine & superb roast, The meat & wine co is home to the juiciest steaks & the finest roast chicken I’ve ever tasted. It was all ‘likes’ from me. From the minute I walked into this rustic, fine dining themed restaurant with warm lights, perfectly arranged tables, I knew I was going to expect some extraordinary here. We came by this place for a family dinner so we decided to order a few options for sharing. We tried the famous chicken jalapeño which was a huge portion. The chicken came with some fresh salads, an Argentinian sauce & baked rosemary potatoes. My dad ordered the chilled Aussie angus with his choice of sides, green beans with hazelnut oil. He loved it! Overall I would give this place 4 stars out of 5, for its overall casual yet classy ambiance, friendly staff & decent pricing.

Klang valley is never short of steakhouses and The Meat and Wine Co is just one out of possibly a thousand. We got there when it first opened its doors to the public as seen from the congratulatory garlands standing guard. Looking at the menu, we were persuaded by the owner to try the lamb chops but since we ladies weren’t feeling like gorging on a slab of meat, we opted for classic choices of a New Yorker burger(RM27) and Lamb Ragout pasta(RM28). The burger came as a usual hearty dish with juicy beef patty sandwiched between layers of caramelised onions, lettuce, melted Swiss and a sesame seed bun. A side serving of fries and lightly dressed salad completed the plate(or wooden board). You gotta eat this with a knife and fork or run the risk of aioli dripping down your chin. The pasta was a simple tomato based sauce tossed with minced lamb and finished off with a sprinkle of Parmesan and sprigs of parsley. Not too shabby we thought. There was no wine that night but we did give Chocolate volcano a try. For RM16, it’s a slightly dry chocolate dessert with a feeble ooze of chocolate sauce down the middle. We had better.

First things first, this is not the same chain from Sydney. Don’t come here expecting top-notch service or anything remotely close. So we didn’t try the food after finding out it’s not a branch. And for a joint which prides itself as a wine place, it certainly felt short. The wine list is basic and unimaginative. With so much competition going on in Publika, The Meat certainly needs to buck it up.
