My son was stationed at the naval base in Yokosuka and he introduced me to foods I had never eaten before. He took me to his favorite places, this was one he frequented. I can say I know why. The gyro was amazing. I have been trying to find someone here in Oregon that can come close. Not happening. If you are in Yokosuka it is a must to have a gyro here

Yokosuka peeps may remember«Taliban Taco,» a street stall of sorts. Great gyros. And then(allegedly) a neighboring business left on the heater and burnt down her place and their’s. I’m not sure of the cause of the fire, but we saw it. The place burned down. Opportunity: now on Blue Street across from the entrance of Mikasa, they are reopened and have a full menu! There are a lot of bonuses to this spot. For one: outdoor seating! How many places in the Tokyo area do you find with outdoor seating? Second(but maybe better than the first): the kabobs! Oh my! They were amazing! Like we went back for three more for our party of 5. The gyro sandwiches were just like the honch stand & you could order a large with extra meat or a small which had plenty as well. The specialty sauce is the same! I went on opening night and they are working out the kinks. We had to pay at the register when we ordered, but some of our items didn’t arrive. They fixed this after discussing, but hey… You want what you order, right? They only serve beer as of now. They allowed us to go to Family Mart and bring our own wine and that was super cool, but not sure if that will be the trend. And note: the onion rings and chicken nuggets seemed to be a frozen variety. Opt for the authentic food: pita and kabobs! I ordered the kefta, but that was one of our lost items and I was too full by the time we realized it had been lost in translation. Next time! Because we’ll be back!
