Amazing hospitality! We arrived here on Shavuot and the owner, Shachar, invited my husband and I to stay for the dinner celebration. My favorite dish was the salmon appetizer, but everything we ate was delicious. I highly recommend this location, and if I am back in Venice, I will be back!

After a week of pizza and pasta we needed a break. We saw this one last year and put it on our list to visit if we returned. Grabbed a table by the canal for a late lunch and ate our way through the menu. Fried artichokes, hummus with meat, kabob, shawarma, schnitzel and a tagliatelle. Everything was great. Beer selection was down to Heineken and Corona. Both hot. Otherwise an amazing meal in the Jewish Ghetto. Another spot off the beaten path that is a must.

Pricey, smallish portions, but worth it if you’re into great tasting Jewish food. Had the Fried Artichoke, Gefilte Fish, and the Special Sample Platter. Everything was really tasty.

This place was amazing. The food was so authentic and delicious. Everything was prepared fresh. It felt as if you were at your grandmas house. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got the matzo ball soup, the shawarma, pasta with meat sauce, and the gam gam special appetizer. Everything was to die for. I would highly recommend this place to everyone who is traveling to Venice!

Never go to this restaurant. The attitude of the waitress is so bad. The beefsteak is awful and it is the worst beefsteak that I ate. If you go to this restaurant, you will be unhappy through the whole day.

Amazing lunch. Came here on a Friday right before the restaurant closed so the staff could observe the Sabbath. Amazing menu of simple items done with such precision and skill. Matzo Ball soup was light and flavorful. The Israeli Appetizers were amazing along with their fresh baked bread. We had as our main dish the Orata fish with a side of homemade potato latkes with their own secret applesauce. They brought us the whole fish to our table that was prepared with fresh garlic and spices. To say it was incredible would be an understatement. Those Potato Latkes which were fresh shredded potatoes with onions and spices I will crave till my next visit. Our final bill was reasonable and a fraction of what we would have paid if we were in San Marco by the high tourist area. This was the best lunch we had in Venice, hands down. You can sit with a view of a canal and enjoy a reasonably priced meal with flavor that will knock your socks off.

What a great stop after learning a bit if the history of the Jewish diaspora at the Museo Ebraico in Venice’s Jewish Ghetto. An international, friendly staff is welcoming and informative. It is conveniently located on the Cannareggio Canal. The Israeli appetizers are sweet(carrots, raisins), tart(tomatoes), savory(ethereal falafel), and nuclear(harissa). As a person who makes matzoh ball soup, it’s not like my home made, but good for the tourists. The pumpkin soup, however, is righteous: toothsome, sweet and savory at the same time. To sum up: if you are nearby, don’t miss either the Museo Ebraica or the nearby restaurant, Gam Gam.

We loved this place! It was so nice to find a place that catered to vegans outside of pasta and pizza. They offered several different vegan menu items(they can bring out a menu that is clearly marked) and the food was AMAZING! If we hadn’t wanted to try other restaurants while we were there, we would have eaten here twice. It is a must try!

I know it may seem like an odd choice to go for Kosher when you’re in Venice, but this is no ordinary Kosher food. All their dishes are influenced by the rich Jewish history of living among Italians for hundreds of years. You definitely won’t find this kind of food anywhere else, not even in New York. Every dish blew my mind(except the gefilte fish, which is just not my thing and I’m yet to try one that I like). Ordered the Assaggi Israeliani, a mixed appetizer consisting of many tiny dishes of various marinated veggies, hummus, homemade hot sauce, and stuff like that. Also got the beef & eggplant moussaka and the beef kebab. The meat on the kebab was slightly on the drier side, but the seasonings more than made up for it. The moussaka was insanely delicious and flavorful. I would come back here just for the goulash!

Delicious kosher meat restaurant in the Jewish Ghetto. I ordered the appetizer with a sampling of salads, pasta with meat sauce, as well as the eggplant in marinara sauce. It was all very tasty. I chose to sit inside due to limited available seating. But, they have outdoor seating right on a canal. It is an excellent location. Shabbos takeout is available as well as pre ordered meals for Shabbos. Reserve early to ensure a spot.

Gam Gam is a solid Jewish restaurant in Venice. the menu is vast so you have many things to pick from. service could certainly improve, it was hectic and confusing at times. the appetizer sample comes with a lot of small dishes to give yourself a taste of what’s available. it was interesting. the hummus and baba ganoush were prepared in a way i haven’t tasted them before. I can’t say i prefer gam gam’s version but, they weren’t bad. eggplant ghetto style — it was just ok. pieces of eggplant cut up in different styles — it’s actually a cold dish. the sea bass(17 €) is a must try if you love fish. it was so damn good. it was cooked perfectly and the flavor of the actual fish stood out well. highly recommended. Fallafels were really really good, taste so fresh as well. overall, Gam Gam has good food and is worth checking out.

We had a great evening at Gam Gam and exploring the Ghetto. Gam Gam was easy to find. It was crowded, so we were seated inside. Friendly staff. We had an eclectic meal: hummus, minestrone, potato latkes with applesauce, and tagliatelle with meat sauce. Everything was very good. I wish we could have tried more dishes!

We had just arrived in Venice at Night and a lady with her two kids was very kind in helping us get to our hotel! During our 15 min walk we asked for restaurants suggestions in Venice and she mentioned she owned this restaurant… GAMGAM! We had to try it. We went there for lunch and the place was packed! But we still managed to get a table for 2. Service was great and fast, good price, and very good food. They have a mix of italian and Jewish food. Make sure you make a reservation.

Had a really lovely lunch at Gam Gam. After being in Venice for a few days, you miss vegetables because they are hardly on any menu. But Gam Gam has plenty! We shared the vegetable sampler appetizer, which was very good. I missed LA’s Jerry’s Deli, so I ordered the Matzo Ball soup. It was different, but not bad. I’d highly recommend if you are looking for a good meal that is slightly different than your normal Italian fare(though they do have spaghetti options, as well).

A little hard to find, but worth it. We had the sampler appetizer that included Hummus and other goodies. The Schwarma is fantastic, as is the matza ball soup. If you are a meat lover try the kabob. The falafel is as good as If you were in Isreal. All six of us definitely recommend eating here. While they don’t have explicit gluten free menu, there are many items to eat that are gluten free. They also know what items you can eat if gluten free

Sehr gute koshere Kost zu gutem Preis, direkt in der Stadt mit höflichem und nettem Personal… im Sommer draussen direkt am Canale di Cannaregio an einem Tisch zu Abend zu essen — wirklich schön! Absolut empfehlenswert!

Dress code: Dressy is misleading. My wife and I ate here on our stop to Venice and the food and atmosphere was great. But we wanted to clarify that most people were wearing jeans and tennis shoes, even the servers. You wont be out of place if you are dressed nicer than that, but don’t feel like you need to change after a long day of sight seeing. So dress casual and enjoy the amazing food.

Bref, j’adore! Apparemment, je né suis pas la seule!
