Waiters only know how to push for the most expensive item on the menu. After reading the reviews I decided not to eat here and right that minute, they started clearing the table wheel I was still having my wine at this restaurant. DONOTGOHERE. Other people’s experience is so true. I entered here without seeing the reviews.

4.5 euro for water? Buyer beware! Plus a 3.5 euro charge for splitting an appetizer. Stay away

Tourist Trap! Pushy wait staff. We asked for a wine list 3 times to no avail. BEWARE! No listed prices for the wines. We chose the lesser of 2 Chianti wines and it was still 50 euros(had to ask for a price). We chose a half bottle of wine but they started serving a full bottle anyway. The food was decent enough to to score a 1 star overall.

After looking and looking for the place we wanted and now running out of time, we were talked into sitting down at this establishment. It looked inviting and we ordered a bottle of rose, six oysters and mushroom pizza. Then checked Unilocal. The worst one in the hood? Now I’m feeling like we are wasting a meal here… Only three days and every meal should be an experience. Well the oysters were ok, the pizza was very good. Loved the chew on the thin crust. We asked for chili flakes and got those, wow HOT. Thinking we might be having a good experience I was ready to continue my birthday… Then the bill came. 30euro for six oysters!!! 35 euro for a rose!!! Are you f$&”;!? Kidding me?! I think I’ve been had, I’m such a stupid American… Left a bad taste in my mouth. I’ll give you three stars for the pizza… But really feel like you took advantage. Bad.

My experience was far better than everyone else’s here. We came for dinner one night and were seated immediately by a female server who took excellent care of us. The bottle of wine recommended was superb and the ambiance of the place was especially nice at night with outdoor seating as an option. The only lack luster item was the mussels we ordered as a starter… which weren’t bad… but just not as amazing as everything else. My fiancée enjoyed their lobster linguine and loved it while I had their truffle-oil infused tagliatelle. We were seated closer to the kitchen and the chef would follow-up with the server asking how we enjoyed the food so as to ensure everything met our expectations. you could tell he had great pride in what he was putting in front of us. The dessert that followed was a chocolate-beer cake which was simply amazing… we devoured it in minutes. When we asked for the check, we were given a complimentary serving of their homemade grappa which was a nice, sincere add-on I felt. They must have done a complete over-haul of the menu and kitchen because this is in no way a two star establishment as my fellow Unilocalers are claiming. Furthermore, the prices were certainly at value I felt and not as high as others have claimed(paid just over 80 euros for everything including the wine). Regardless, we had a great, great time here to say the least!

Overpriced food. The turist menu for 16 €. And you get little spagetti whit some mussels. And you can’t Bye just a glass of wine, you have to buy a small bottle wine. And Theo cost 12 € and up to 30 €. For just normal italian wine dont go here and spend you Money, you are going to be disipointet.

Nice pit stop for lunch after a morning of sight seeing. Tried one of their pizzas which was very tasty, crust was yummy. Server was attentive and pleasant.

Don’t even know where to begin. Probably the worst dining experience I will ever have. Just to name a few issues the food came half cooked, tasted like they dropped a salt shaker in the pot, took 45 minutes to arrive, and on top of all of that when we tried to speak to the wait staff they walked away from us ignoring our table. DONOT spend your precious time in Venice eating at this terrible place.

At the very end of a long trail of ally restaurants where all are begging you to stop in we chose Trattoria Canonica simply because it looked the most comfortable and quiet. That said — this place is overpriced for basically very average food. Once seated we decided on simple lunch selections to satisfy us until dinner. Why not try a calzone and compare. Stuffed with mushrooms, ham & cheese the calzone was fresh but boring lacking the sauce and ricotta Americans are so used to. The Margarita Chicken style Pizza was acceptable — nothing more. I’ll take NYC pizza over this anytime. The Three Cheese Platter with fruit was again nothing special. The suggested glass Chanti was enjoyed. Are there any poor red wines in Venice? We found the outside seating to be comfortable as we watched the activity along the small allyway street

Horrible place! Do not go there! The food was just ok. The price was high! And to make matters worse the waiter was an complete ass! Very rude and disrespectful! Do not ever go to this place! The only reason its a one star is because I had to give it a rating to leave a review.

I agree with the other reviews. The food was not bad. However, it was overpriced for average food. The waiter was very pushy with trying to get me to order more and after convincing me to try the dessert, he seemed angry that I turned down the digestif. He then made me wait for the bill even though I told him I was finished. I spent about 50 euro for a pizza, tiramisu, and a small bottle of Chianti. I would have given the place one star except the food was OK.

Wow, not very good and way overpriced. I got a plate of gnocchi and a glass of house wine and ended up spending € 25(that’s almost $ 40 with the current exchange rate). So not worth it. I was starving after seeing the sights at San Marco and let myself be swayed by the guy outside talking up their menu. I really wanted some food, a place to sit down, and a bathroom. They at least came through on those things. There was nothing truly bad, except the price, but nothing outstanding. And while service was ok until I was done eating, I then had to wait a very long time and ask 3 different people for my check. The check was actually € 22 and I would have left an extra Euro for tip, but they ended up getting € 3 because it was clear nobody was going to come back with some change. Lesson learned — don’t eat anywhere that has people outside trying to convince you to eat there.
