I had two different experiences within 24 hours. The first was fine, I ordered a panini to go from an older man, probably the owner. He was nice enough and I had no complaints. The next day we needed a quick dinner and we decided to sit inside. I ordered a medium beer, 3 paninis, and water. I recieved a small beer in addition to the reciept having 4 extra panini charges on it. This shop is a f*ing scam. I expected a little more from a «trip advisor» rated shop. Typical tourist trap. I gave it two stars because I had to eat something on the run and I’m still alive.

Easy, happy little spot for a drink or snack. Nothing earth-shattering about the food, drinks, or atmosphere, but I got a smile and a drink, which was my aim. I stopped in later in the evening– around 10 pm, so it wasn’t packed. When I walked by earlier in the day, no seats were available. If you can find a seat and are happy with a drink(Aperol spritz for me!) or a bite– give it a try!

In the tourist-trap-filled labyrinth known as Venice in terms of food, I thought Osteria da Baco was pretty good. I ordered two sandwiches — one with shrimp salad and radicchio, and the other with prosciutto in it. My friend also ordered two sandwiches, though I forgot what was in hers. We enjoyed our sandwiches, and the ingredients were fresh. Nothing earth-shattering, just simple and fresh. It was a cozy shop, and people were constantly coming in and out. It is somewhat of a soup nazi line in there, but it’s understandable given the size and the tourist traffic. I would stop by if I go back to Venice(versus no way for some of the other rip-off places encountered!).
