My husband and I had a lovely 4 night stay here. The hotel is located in a beautiful 17th century building that has been completely remodeled. We had a deluxe room — it was extremely spacious and absolutely gorgeous. The décor is exquisite, the bed was amazingly comfortable, and the linens were high quality and immaculate. The bathroom was also large and beautiful with a fantastic shower and floor to ceiling marble. I was pretty disappointed though that given that I was 7 months pregnant, they put us in a room overlooking the courtyard where a massive party would be happening for carnival. This unfortunately resulted in me not getting great sleep for one night in particular. Another thing is that they are extremely strict on the breakfast times — my husband and I would come down at 10am(breakfast lasted until 10:30), and by 10:20 they were already rushing you out the door — whereas generally(in my experience), hotels will let people already there finish without rushing them or making them feel awkward. I felt it was really unnecessary and rude. Also, although there is a bar, you generally had to chase down the bartender or find someone to serve you — not a problem at all. But little things like this show that it is truly a 4, not a 5 star hotel. They also only gave us 1 room key — which I found strange as generally hotels will give 2 — one for each person. However, we requested another and this was not a problem. All in all, a lovely hotel that I would happily stay at again for the beautiful rooms, location and building alone.

We decided to stay in this classic hotel, thought would be very nice thing to do in Venice(which we usually prefer modern designer hotel) guess we made a very big mistake on this… when we first checked in, the front desk requested a photocopy of our credit card and passport,(they claim to use your card details as a room deposit) so I didn’t pay much attention on this area until later… the room were very old and disturbing, we couldn’t sleep well on both nights, there is no wine glass in the room and when you request, they will charge you 1 for 3 euro, when inquire about the gondola service on front desk, they ask you to pay«cash» only for 90euro 30 mins tour(outside market rates 80 euro) with no receipt given. The restaurant service is very good, staff are well trained, well groomed, price are reasonable compare to outside restaurant, quality of food are great too.

Hotel Ai Reali is beautifully decorated with friendly English-speaking concierge staff in a great location. They offer guests a free boat ride to Murano Island every morning at 10am from the lobby. There is a restaurant in the hotel, where they serve breakfast, which is included in the cost of your stay(it’s basic but has a varied selection: boiled eggs, fruit, cereal, pastries, yoghurt, juices, etc.) They also have a piano bar in the hotel. The service is wonderful — they come by in the morning to clean, then again for turn-down. There are two reasons I am not giving them 5 stars, the first reason is the key situation. As a couple, we only received 1 room key, this means, when I get back from an excursion and my husband is in the shower — I have to knock on the door and wait for him to get out mid shower to let me into the room… which actually happened twice during our short 3 night stay. This key must also be placed in a slot near the door for anything to function, so if you walk into the room and forget to stick the key in, a few minutes later, the lights automatically switch off and you’re fumbling in the dark trying to find where you put the key card… this happened to us at least half a dozen times. Lastly, the air conditioning turns off when you leave the room with your key, so you always come back to a hot room.(Yes, I tried asking them for two room keys specifying one for me and one for my husband, they gave me a second one but in doing so, shut off the first room key; that and we found you cannot enter the room if there is a keycard inside the slot by the door.) The second reason I am not giving them 5 stars is that I had to enter the Wi-Fi code to use the Wi-Fi almost every single day even though I checked the box for automatic log in. The room we were in was cozy but well laid out so you did not feel cramped — they do have much fancier rooms/suites with views. We paid approximately $ 700USD for 3 nights, which I felt was appropriate for the experience.
