One star for good grilled vegetables and my scaloppini. Other than that, it was pretty terrible. My mother’s chicken leg was clearly pre-cooked and extremely salty. My husband and father’s pork chops were tough but tasty. The roasted potatoes were also cooked in advance, refrigerated then reheated(taste and soggy roasted skins are a dead give away). Initially, my scaloppini came out with salad, although I clearly ordered roasted potatoes. They removed the entire plate and spent the next five minutes heating up some of the previously cooked potatoes. They tried to make it right by providing us with fries, which we told them we did not want. The icing on the cake was the much discussed 13% servicio. Having charged 2.5 euro’s per head coperto, they then tried to force us to pay a service charge(read«tip») for the mediocre food and service. Completely ridiculous to try and force someone to pay a tip when you screwed up the meal. And I do mean«force». They threatened to call the police when we refused to pay the servicio. My parents refused, and said«Go on, call the police, we will wait for them». Of course, no police were called and we were finally allowed to leave. We did not pay the extra 13% and you should not either. They will try to tell you it is a city tax, but it is not. Please do not be fooled — the 13% extra fee is a tip and you should only pay it if you feel you have received sufficient service. We did not, and they backed down. Avoid this place, and keep a close eye on what is on your bill when you get it.

If you’re looking for the mix seafood platter, this is the place. The food was excellent, as was the service. The price was reasonable.

DONOTCOMEHERE. Tourists get ripped off. Food was mediocre except for my pizza margarita that had a nice crisp to the crust. Servers seemed annoyed that we were even there. I’m polite, know a few words in Italian, but got just attitude. Also there is a € 2.50 per person«coperto» plus 13% service fee. Make sure if you pay with a credit card(mine has no foreign fees) that they bill you INEUROS. They billed me in USD and I was charged a 3% fee from them plus a poor exchange rate. I’m going to dispute the claim with my bank later out of principal. Only way they will stop their scams if they get a charge back. I was tired after a long travel day and missed it before it was too late. Luckily I caught it before my friend paid his.

We stumbled onto this place because it was late and everyone else was closing. The pasta was so-so, the beer warm and the service typical of touristy Venice. We could live with all that but the bill came and we were charged $ 2.50 each tourist tax and 13% gratuity(service charge) for a party of two. This is clearly a setup for foreigners since I watched a local negotiate the bill and left happy with their adjusted bill. Perhaps I’m being naïve about the whole thing but closer the where we were staying(near the university) we didn’t have these fees.

First off, the pizza was the worst pizza that I ate in Italy. Tasted like microwaved cardboard with ketchup. Second, the pasta was barely edible. The prices are cheap for the area, and there is a strong reason why. Second, the wait staff was incredibly rude and in attentive, which was funny because nobody else was there. The only reason we went in was because as we walked by the owner told us there was no cover charge, and then charged us a service charge. Definitely avoid, since there are much better places to be found in the city.

Lovely place in a quiet nook. The octopus salad was delicious. We came back a couple of days later to have it again. They have free wifi. The waitstaff is great and service is excellent.
