Excellent choice near the Vatican. My wife and two tween daughters ate lunch but only dinner menu was available. It was one of the better restaurants we’ve eaten in our 3 week Italy trip. Fantastic service. Very good pasta. Great octopus. Tuna was average.

This place is a hidden gem. One of the owners won a prize in 2013 and 2014 for her pasta. The portions are very generous. In terms of the food, I would say this restaurant has a rustic charm to it. The theme of the food is «what the peasants would have eaten years ago», but with the elegance of a reputable restaurant. I don’t drink wine, but the wine aficionados of the group loved their wine selection and recommendations. The restaurant is underground and you can view the kitchen from the stairs that lead down to the dining area. It was a wonderful experience. I would go again.

This place is a slightly hidden gem! If you are touristing around and want something a little off from the norm of pizza and gelato, I highly recommend this place!!! We ate a pasta dish that literally consisted of three ingredients: pasta, pecorino, and black pepper. Do not let’s it’s simplicity fool you! It was amazing! If you’re lucky(or if you ask really nicely!!) they will show you how to make it in a small test kitchen in the dining area. We also had a roasted ham hock and mixed green salad that was simply delicious!!! They have a great wine selection, and of course, great espresso! Definitely check this one out!
