A nice little Italian spot, whether you were with a group of friends or on a date. The food is good quality and the service is great. Minus one star because my spaghetti with clams was pretty salty. If you’re vacationing in room this spot is worth hitting up.

Loved this place! The food was excellent and the service was even better. Our waiter shared great suggestions and made sure my sambuca had the«mosca»!

I’m not sure what all the hype is about this resturant. We were looking for a place to eat next to the Spanish steps and Unilocal showed this place to have good reviews. The food here is just normal. Nothing to rave about. Compared to every other Italian resturant we have good to in Italy this was probably the worth 1. The service here was good though. So the 3 stars was for the service.

The wine list is extensive. They offer both bottles or by the glass pricing. The food was freshly prepared and delivered at hot temperatures. Yeah! The sea bass was encrusted with a fried potato crust that was intoxicating! The handmade lasagna was the best I’ve ever had! We would have ordered more, especially dessert, but our waiter never came back. We finally went to the bar and asked to pay when they closed!

I absolutely loved this place. I don’t think we would have happened upon this place unless our Airbnb was located 20 steps away. It’s located in Piazza Margana which is a very small piazza — pretty much 2 restaurants and some apartments/living quarters. The best thing is that it is out of the way of the hustle and bustle of everything. For that dinner moment, I almost felt as if I was living like the locals do. Granted two young girls spoke english at the table behind us and there was english translation on the menu… but at least it felt like it. Carpaccio di Spigola agli agrumi(sea bass Carpaccio in citrus sauce) — ordered based on the rec of another Unilocaler. Clean taste. Not fishy. It had it’s own citrus on top but I also squeezed extra from the slices on the side. Spaghetti Alici e mollica(spaghetti with anchovy and soft part of bread) — before you say what?! This was pretty good. The waitress warned it really tasted like anchovies. I hesitated back and forth before finally deciding why not? when in Rome! First bite — even w/warning was still a shocker. The anchovy wasn’t whole or cut up like on pizza — it was mixed in the sauce and evenly mixed throughout the pasta. The soft bread wasn’t soft bread really at all but a lot of toasted crumbs on top that added a really nice crunchy texture. The pasta was perfectly al dente. And to be honest… The fishy flavor seemed less harsh each bite after. Either my palate got used to it… or maybe it was the few sips of wine in between… Still beware — you must really like anchovies… Orecchiette — so the exact one my husband ordered is not on the menu online so I can’t tell you the name. It was the ear shaped pasta tossed in red wine and onions and pancetta. By far this is my fave meal out of all the ones I had in Italy this trip. It was pretty much absolutely delicious and I wish I could have it again as I write this. The red wine sauce thinly coated the ear shaped pasta but was enough to give a delicious flavor. It was different than I expected and had a slight hint(but perfectly enough) tartness to it. All of this sat on a perfectly crisp and not overcooked Parmesan cheese crisp. I even asked for another half order after I finished the anchovy dish and ate it all by myself. Saltimbocca alla Romana(steak of veal with ham and sage) — veal was thin and tender. The sauce had good flavor, maybe a bit salty but still good. Service was great, food was wonderful, location was awesome. If I stayed in this area more than one night, highly likely I would have returned.

Cute little place in an alley. Food was ok, but I expected more for the price. My carbonara was too al dente. Service was friendly.

We followed other’s reviews and came here. The setting is delightful a quiet alley, perfect weather. Food! Gnocchi all grigio with squash blossom and bacon, as good as it sounds,.sea bass with 3 coatings, delicious! House white. Would have tried dessert but waiter never came back. Probably just as well, have been eating our way through italy… So if you do want something, ask for it… Chocolate cake looks gooooood!

Had a great lunch here. Came here on some reviews from Unilocal. Also had to use the walking app to find it. The calamari salad was excellent. Cooked perfectly, bright and fresh. We also had eggplant parm which was an appetizer but more than enough for my main course and veal. All very good. Service was very nice as well.

Had an amazing dinner with my family here! This restaurant is a gem in Rome with great service, pizza and other misc. genuine Italian foods. The staff was authentic, friendly and the food and drink was reasonably priced. Places like these are reasons to come to Italy.

Risotto with truffle was divine according to my wife. Not that expensive, compared to food quality.

Super solid tasty food restaurant with good presentation, good value, and no lines because it’s in a side alley. Definitely push for outside seating! I stopped by here twice because the food was that good and it’s very conveniently located near the piazza Venezia. The only problem is the service, which is honestly about on par with any other Italian restaurant although I had the stark contrast of dining at several Michelin star restaurants before this where after you put your fork down for a few seconds after finishing a plate, someone comes to clean up your space and give you new silverware. To get any service here you have to really flag down a waiter and heaven have mercy on you if you have multiple questions because they will answer one question, then run off to do something else! Wait time between each request is easily five minutes even when they aren’t busy. To get: sea bass carpaccio, grilled calamari, gnocchi with bacon and mushrooms(truffles?)

Veal saltimboca and orichetti with onions and prosciutto were excellent. Friendly service. Fabulous location on a small quiet piazza. I’d come here again in a second.

Nothing to write home about. Decidedly average place. Gruff staff. Tourist should look elsewhere for a better experience.

This place is kind of hidden from the busyness of Rome. Kind servers and a pretty good orchette with red onion, bacon, and red wine. That’s all I can say though, you’ll have to see for yourself if it’s any better.

My wife and I stumbled across the place one evening as we were attempting to take a shortcut to a place I’ve since forgotten. This was in July of 2010. We decided to stop and eat, and we were glad we did. The cuisine is really quite delicious. I had a spaghetti with olive oil and fresh cracked black pepper, served in a bowl made of cheese straws. The waiter playfully chided me when I ordered a cup of coffee to be served with the main course. Don’t do that because they simply won’t bring it to you until after dessert. They were nice about the faux pas, though. The one and only reason I don’t rate Vinando with five stars is that I’ve enjoyed food so delicious it seem literally miraculous. This isn’t miraculous, but it’s worth making a special trip to. And that’s exactly what my wife and I did the following summer.

My girlfriend and I were near the Colosseum and were looking for a great place to eat — the best ones in Italy, it seems, are hidden in the small alleyways. Vinando’s cuisine was absolutely superb. They were friendly, traditional, had outdoor seating and had a great assortment of tasty pastas, seafood, vegetarian meals and more. I ordered the Gnocci with black truffle(sans Bacon b/c I’m vegetarian) for only € 10. INCREDIBLE. I was mind blown by the lightness of the Gnocci and accent of the mashed black truffles were amazing(and I mopped up the rest of the oil with some soft, fresh Italian bread.) My girlfriend got the seafood mix with black risotto and said it was the best meal she’d ever had in Europe. And she’s been all over. Fantastic meal, great service, beautiful spot near the Campidoglio museum and a 15 minute walk from the colosseum. Absolutely worth it if you want amazing Italian food at a surprisingly reasonable price.

Dined here on our last night of rome and we definately saved the best till last. Finally found somewhere in Italy that has good service! Waiters were polite, funny and very attentive. We ordered prosecco which was good and bread which was soft. I ordered grilled squid and roman style spinach. I have never tried spinach with pine nuts and raisins but i will be making it at home! Portion sizes were huge and tasty. Boyfriend ordered pasta with prawns and shrimps which he said was the best he had tasted the whole holiday. Prices were ok for rome. The restaurant is in a quite square which is nice to get away from the crowds. We booked on their website and got to choose inside or outside seating. Overall best food we had in italy!

Do NOT pass over this place if you are near the Trevi fountains. This is as authentic as it gets. The staff are very helpful, and we even went back for a second visit, and enjoyed it even more. Their meatballs Are heavenly. And we were not the only ones… but a German couple sitting near us said the same! Don’t miss this.

Orchetta with red onion and bacon, ravioli with ricotta and saffron, meatballs… All amazing. Loved that it was off the beaten path but still close to it all. Reasonable price.
