While the food was good, the service was some of the worst I’ve experienced. Terribly rude waiters(especially if you don’t speak Italian) with condescending attitudes who made no attempt at anything beyond the bare minimum food service. And another Rome restaurant that silently lists on the bill the bread they put on the table. At least call it a service charge. Overall, would absolutely not recommend.

I’m not sure what attracted us to Spiriti & Forme but we had a nice meal; it’s well decorated, with a dark colour palette and rows upon rows of wine bottles adorning the walls. I was personally initially put off by the menu and blackboards set up outside, but once we were sat down it felt cozy and intimate. Service was abrupt from the start and the reason for a lower number of stars. We weren’t welcomed in at all and sat ourselves down, which felt slightly awkward! Menus were brought over, along with some bread, and. we quickly decided what we wanted. We ordered a bottle of lovely pinot grigio for € 25, which came in a wine cooler, but then we experienced quite a bit of a wait to order our mains. It didn’t take long to see that many other tables were experiencing the same issues somI relaxed a little bit — at least we weren’t being singled out at all! When we did order(one spicy salami pizza and one with parma ham & mushroom) the service sped up and everything seemed to relax. The pizza bases were thin and crispy, plus a little bit burnt in a good way… The toppings tasted fresh, and the parma ham & mushroom combination was especially tasty as the saltiness of the sam and earthiness of the mushrooms balanced each other out. Delicious pizza but the service could do with tightening up somewhat.

The food was good, the service was not. Margherita Pizza, zucchini flower app, and osso bucco were all delicious, we choose a white Italian Pinot grigio which was so good that we got a second bottle. Our waiter was impatient and rude, cut us off when we politely asked for more water in Italian, and took forever to bring the check– Almost 30 minutes. I am a very generous tipper, even while abroad when the tipping protocols are different and I intentionally did not leave any tip for our waiter. It was probably the first time in 5 years that I felt the service was so bad that I left nothing.

I had the spinach salad with goat cheese and the tagliolini with mushrooms. Both were amazing, but the goat cheese was OUTSTANDING. I got to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance. The service was a bit slow, but very kind. House red was good!
