Had some of the best pizza here: crispy yet fluffy and perfectly cooked. The lemon pasta was delicious and flavorful as well. The bruschetta was crispy and well seasoned. That said, the panna cotta was disappointing, given the amazing ones we’ve tried elsewhere in Rome. Excellent value here. If it weren’t for the weak dessert it’d be five stars from me.

Amazing dinner! Everything so fresh! We ordered 2 different types of pasta and both were so amazing! Also had a margarita pizza so good! Sauce was sweet and delicious! Ordered the olive oil brusetta that we saved for our pasta and was excellent! No complaints at all about this restaurant! Excellent service! Wait staff was so friendly spoke English and made it such an amazing pleasant experience! Menu is also offered in english! Great prices! Highly recommend!

Tucked in a secondary and quieter Trastevere alleyway, therefore not so full with tourists, this place offers good food at decent prices. I tried the quintessential Roman tonnarelli cacio e pepe pasta, it was well prepared according to tradition.

Thoroughly disappointed by the experience. We made the mistake of ordering the saltimbocca, which was recommended by our waiter. The dish was very very dry and the flavor was way off, We had to give the dish back. Fortunately the waiter gave us a refund for the dish and gave us a lemoncello on the house. We also ordered 4 plates of pastas and they were just okay… Not terrible but not good. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

Very nice place. Food is good and so does vine. Stuff speaks English but we saw Italians eat here as well. So it’s not a tourist place.

Unbelievable, authentic Italian food. Slightly off the beaten path, which we loved. The servers were incredibly friendly. A must try for sure!

OK Italian dishes. The server wasn’t very friendly; he wasn’t very helpful especially when we were tourists and didn’t know any Italian. He could have been a little more attentive.

Unilocal describes 5 stars as «Woohoo! As good as it gets!» — that is how I’d describe Sette Oche. My wife and I went twice during our three nights in Rome. We had the amatriciana, cacio e pepe, and carbonara. I’ve never had pastas that looked so simple in a dish and then blew my mind once I started eating them. Both my wife and I were blown away. Seriously, I can’t describe how good the pastas were here. We tried a couple of salads too but never got around to the pizzas. From what I saw at other tables, they looked pretty good. Also, the accouterments they bring along with the bread at the beginning were all delicious. I still have dreams about this place…

My wife and I had the hardest time finding authentic cuisine while in Rome. We walked around seeing the sites all day and by night we were so tired and hungry that we typically sat down at the first restaurant we saw. A few wrong turns led us to Sette Oche(which we thought was called the blind duck until Google told us otherwise) this was an amazing accident. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive, recommending a great bottle of local wine which came with a sampling of olives, meats and cheeses alongside our bread basket. Next up was our homemade pasta dishes — spinach ravioli with egg plant and my wife ordered a creamy carbonara recommended by the waiter. For dessert we polished off molten chocolate lava cake with a gooey center and a tiramisu. We rolled out of there happy and full of amazing food with an inexpensive bill to boot. Highly recommended. Our favorite meal in Rome.

I will try not to offend anyone, but as a foreigner you might find many italian restaurants amazing, because italian food is objectively really amazing. So I trusted Unilocal but this time I was disappointed. Nothing special about this restaurant, the pizza was forgettable, my gnocchi were hard like a stone as well as my boyfriend’s bistecca. Everything was overpriced for the quality.

Off the beaten path and a place it appeared most tourists didn’t go to. Quieter ambiance, not fancy and very simple. The food was also not overloaded with spices and seasonings like salt or anything else that could overpower it-we found it to be quite a refreshing change. The average American who is used to lots of salt, etc may not prefer the simplicity that is offered here-however, if your taste buds are more inclined to feel«less is more» this may be exactly what you are looking for. The staff was responsive and friendly, not overbearing in any way. Pleasant meal off the beaten path for sure.

Getting lost in Rome is the way to go and finding yourself in restaurants like this with the help of reviews makes it even more enjoyable. The staff was very welcoming and attentive to our group of 6US tourists. It’s hard to achieve relative perfection in a land of incredible food but this place was only just short. Very fair prices, plenty of seating, solid dishes described very accurately/well on the menu. Don’t travel across town to visit this place as there are just too many options to justify, but if you are close by do not hesitate to enjoy a dining experience here.

I chose this restaurant based on the excellent Unilocal reviews but was a little disappointed. We made a reservation for 6 and came in around 8:30pm on a weeknight. The restaurant was empty, which is why it was odd that we felt rushed the entire time. The server barely gave us enough time to look at the menus; he whisked plates away without checking to see if we had finished eating; etc, etc. The food was good, but not memorable. I had cacio e pepe three times in Rome, and this was my least favorite.

WHAT are people raving about? What happened this night? I really don’t understand, as I based making a reservation here because of the high rating! The staff kept coming to our table every 5 minutes to ask«if we were done». Eeeeh no. Bite no. 4 from my pizza. Thanks, but no. Eeeeh no. Bite no. 9 from my pizza now, so still no. Eeeh NO! Stop it! There’s no one waiting for a table, it’s not busy, why do you want us gone?! The food was OK, not super special and when in Rome, especially in Trastevere — there are SO many great restaurants in this area. The burrata was great, but you can’t go much wrong here; you just need to make sure to buy the right product. The pizza was fine, cooked well, but also what you’d expect from a Roman pizza restaurant. The spaghetti límone was MEH. Sorry, really nothing to rave about. The wine was also MEH, OK it was fine, but definitely highly overpriced. Overall, felt pretty much darrrrrrnnnit-you-positive-reviews-you! Wish I’d made a different choice of restaurant to have dinner!

Loved this restaurant. Super chill and friendly staff. Very helpful with suggestions. Loved that there were no tourist crowds nearby, although they’re a hidden gem and deserve the business.

had a infernali pizza and shared a sphagetti. pizza was amazing, crust extremely thin and crispy. the spicy salami added a good kick. best ive had so far in rome. the spaghetti was done slightly al dente with good tomato sauce, not nearly enough salt in my opinion but my partner loved it. great outdoor seating on a quiet street, service could be better but hey, doesnt stop the new yorker.

My first meal in Roma! I actually didn’t have plans to specifically come to this restaurant, but my family was tired from walking around Trastevere, and Sette Oche was one of the first places we came across. We sat al fresco because of the perfect Roman summer night weather, and my family ordered a variety of dishes. I didn’t think to Unilocal places to eat prior to going out on our first day, so we went into this blindly — I wish I had done some research, though, because I wasn’t particularly impressed with what we ordered. Good: * Spaghetti aglio e olio was the best dish of the night — cooked well and spicy * The meat skewers were flavorful and tender, especially considering it was a variety of meat * Multiple people working, so it never felt like we couldn’t get a server’s attention Meh: * Most of the second courses were not good, unfortunately. Aside from the skewers, they were all overcooked — especially the scaloppini and tagliata * Carbonara sauce seized on us, but it at least had good flavor The antipasti looked really good, specifically the meat and cheese platter. Really regret not ordering that! Note that my family didn’t order a lot of things recommended on Unilocal,so definitely stick with what the other Unilocalers recommend — I think your experience would be a lot better with Sette Oche if you do.

Service was solid, but unspectacular. We are starting to learn that it seems to be pretty common here in Rome. That said, the atmosphere was very nice(we sat outside on a beautiful night) and the food was very worthy of 4 stars. The Bufalino(fresh mozzarella) was as good as I’ve ever had, but perhaps too simple. It DID highlight the superb flavor and creaminess of the cheese but the presentation didn’t wow us(a big ball of cheese on a few pieces of arugula). Oh well, we enjoyed it. But we enjoyed the carbonara the most — the pasta was cooked perfectly and retained a nice chew. We thought the ravioli that were recommended by our waiter had a vodka sauce so good that it was drinkable. That said, the ravioli were very delicate(unlike anything you get in the U.S.) and we couldn’t quite decipher what the filling was because the highlight was, to me, the cook on the pasta and the sauce. It worked out and we had a nice time(the wine was cheap and they know how to cook some good pasta).

Sette was our next convenient choice give Roma Sparta was closed for 4 days during the time we visited. Many establishments were. The doldrums of August. Sette was a nice surprise especially when we were in the mood of Cacio e Pepe. — The meat and cheese plate for two was overwhelming. They give you lots of cured meat and fresh cheeses. The bufula mozzarella was essentially bleeding milk it was so fresh. — The Bucatini was good but I’m going to make a general gripe about what«Al dente» means in NY vs Italy. In NY, the pasta is either over cooked or has the perfect firm chew. In Italy, it’s either perfectly cooked with the perfect chew or significantly undercooked. So much that you can taste the hard inner core of the noodle. Perhaps I don’t know how to enjoy pasta the way Italians do, but I didn’t enjoy the undercooked texture here. — Cacio e Pepe. Tasted lovely but the undercooked noodle did not leave me walking away satisfied. This was the only gripe about the place. Otherwise, this place is a great joint.
