Great location but the food is not good at all. A little overpriced due to the location. The staff is cool. Main problem is the food really

Honestly the worst place we’ve been in Rome. Unilocal let us down this time. Service is horrible and the food just average. Tastes okay but that’s pretty much it. The lamb we ordered was the best but not amazing. They also charge 10% which is unusual in Italy. The prices are at the high end for such underwhelming food.

That’s a great restaurant very close to Piazza San Pietro. Tables outside are the best option but we couldn’t get one! All places around are packed after the Sunday mass. It is also lovely inside. We ordered Lasagna(omg, what was that? The best lasagna I ate in ages!) I also tried the Strozzapreti All matriciana, it was delicious — I believe they made it there, it tasted like homemade. I had the local beer but it wasn’t particularly interesting. Should have gone for the house wine instead. They had also vegetarian options.

After attending a papal mass which translates to getting there early, sitting and waiting for 3 hours, 2 hour mass, hot hot sun, afterwards, finding a lunch spot … number 1 priority. Kudos to Pozzetto. My wife orders the fettuccine bolognese and it was excellent. A great balance of flavors without over powering acidity. I opted for the carbonara and it might freak people out … the egg … but come on!!! Very good. We also started with a simple caprese and the mozzarella … creamy and delicious. Coffee and profiterole for dessert … Happy tummies. We ate inside and the temperature of the restaurant was not as cool as we thought but it was better than the 5 hours of hot sun. Wait staff was nice and attentive. Seemed a bit rushed but lots of waiters at a ready. A great location near the Vatican.

If it hadn’t been for the extremely rude waitresses, I’d probably give this place more stars. The food was excellent, but their service definitely needs some work. Our personal waitress lied to my friends and me about the size of the pizzas as we were looking to share. She told us that they were really small and only big enough for one person. When the pizzas came out they were actually pretty large and would have been perfect for my friend and I to share. As we’re eating, they put down oil and vinegar on the table and not once, but TWICE another waitress removed it from the table while we were using it and didn’t bring it back. We know when traveling that there is always a communication barrier, but both of these women spoke English very well and we felt taken advantage of.

Excellent food and service. We had the Musky Octopus, salmon and the beef tenderloin in marsala with roast vege. All was cooked nicely. All around a lovely evening.

The staff is very attentive and totally sweet without even trying. The food was a 4⁄5: very fresh pasta, seafood, and caprese. I had the Saffron seafood linguine which was great; Pozzeto(vegetable) pizza, which was better than mediocre(very fresh and tasty veggies, though!); and Buffalo mozzarella caprese; also really great! The Merlot is also very good. It’s a quiet ambiance outside which was nice one a warm March evening, and nice for a change with the other overcrowded tourist spots on the same block, which is just unnecessary.

Worst dining experience in our four days in Rome. Food was bland. Service was disgraceful. Waiter pushed us to order 3 courses despite our insistence for wanting 2 and ordering lots of food and wine. Also bizarrely tried to persistently talk our 14 year old into ordering octopus when he had no interest and wanted lasagna. We know this 3 course demand is not the current requirement in Rome. Despite our wishes, he withheld a dish from our second course, which when we asked it he said«are you ready for it?» 2 times. We were, but when it didn’t arrive for another 30 minutes, we cancelled. When we got our check, it had a 10 percent service fee which is the first such fee that we saw in Rome. Ironic, because we always over tip for even decent service. Diners beware. Not sure who wrote these reviews! Also, restaurant was empty, so not an excuse. Maybe a reason…

Nice atmosphere and good food. We tried the Pasta with Eggplant, Zucchini and Swordfish and Lasagna. Both dishes were tasty. We had a spot by the door which was a little too breezy and the waitress forgot to bring us the second beer. I would come again. It also seems to be frequented by locals a lot.

Tired from a long day at the Vatican & found this little place! A bit pricey but they had Risotto! Ate inside, a bit sterile but it was air conditioned! The lasagna is amazing! Pesto pasta heavy on the basil, risotto delicious. The Tiramisu is a wow! 10% service charge was funky in Italy, so beware!

We had a nice lunch time meal here. The prosciutto and melon was very good. The gnocchi was truly amazing and the fussili pesto was very good as well. The pizza’s are also very tasty. It is a bit pricey as they have a truly outstanding wine cellar, and we unfortunately did not have any wine with lunch I suspect you pay a little extra in a place like thing for them maintaining such a cast wine collection. A good spot just a few blocks from the Vatican for a very good meal. If you enjoy your wine probably the best option for you.

The Restaurant has very good food, very pleasant staff, inexpensive and very good service. We live close to it and came to eat at this restaurant five times during our five day stay in Rome. Highly recommended!!!

We were visiting Vatican City. It was about 5:30PM. We wanted to have an early dinner. A lot of Rome restaurants close between 4 – 7. We started walking down this nice street with lots of restaurants. We came here. We sat in the street under umbrellas where ~24 seats. The food was great. The street ambiance Lively. The wine reasonable. The bolanaise was terrific. We would come back. Nice quaint and reasonable for Italy.

In love! I had my first meal in Rome at this cute little ristorante near The Vatican, and I was not disappointed! The spaghetti alla carbonara, was creamy, salty, and rich with flavor. Plus the fatty bacon was just absolute perfection! Another plus, the servers were kind and attentive. The first restaurant I tried to go to was Very Italian, no tourists(pretty much the exact perfect place you want to try real Italian food), and the servers ignored my friend and I. When a server finally acknowledged us, he said«No.» And the other customers(all Italian) were giving me dirty looks. So thank you so much Il Pozzetto for a fabulous lunch! I hope to come again ;)

Cozy, comfortable, and excellent food. Everything you want in a Roman restaurant. We liked it so much we ate there twice on our recent trip to Rome. Authentic Roman, with excellent service!
