I was very hungry and we came upon this lovely little italian restaurant, they provide gluten free food here and I think it must be good for it here, based on Unilocal reviews and it broadcasting it, in big letters on a blackboard. I had a lasagne followed by a nice, cold larger. The lasagna was very nice and the larger helped finish it better. They had desserts which looked very nice, I was too full to try but I will recommend here. Slight improvements needed for five.

Il Miraggio is one of the many italian chains in Rome, this one is actually close to Trevi Fountain. The only reason I visited here, is that they do gluten free pizza and pasta, having struggled to find food in Rome. This is located on a side street near motorbike parking, hence it doesn’t look like the nicest of places, both inside and out. I did originally want to sit in one place, but they ended up moving me somewhere else, which was pointless and they wouldn’t take no for an answer. The staff here spoke english, but it wasn’t perfect hence it was hard to ask if certain items, like the gelato was gluten free, I feel it should have been with Pizza and Pasta on the menu, but like many dessert/snacky items, the answer was no! The prices here are reasonable, with my pizza with sausage meat costing 15 euros, it was 2 euro extra for gluten free, and iced coffee costing 3. They do have wifi here, with a really long password! The wi-fi is free to use if you are having a meal here and is actually a good speed, hence I was relived to have this with the wi-fi in my hotel room being so close to 0 Mb/s, of which I found out after testing it online, as it was running far too slow for my liking.(and still is… well that’s a different review!) My iced coffee was basically coffee made cold with no milk, it was horrid, I didn’t expect it to be like in Starbucks, but I did expect it to have milk and be more blended, and even larger considering the price. I did eventually add milk and it was okay, but it was nothing special, and not really what I was expecting. If I knew it was basically going to be coffee made cold, I’d have ordered a hot one! My pizza was quite nice, although the pizza base did taste a bit doughy, I did like the sausage meat and found this better than using actual sausages for example, which I often find spicy. The staff didn’t have a problem wrapping up the pizza to take back to my hotel, but they only used tin-foil instead of a nice, box I’d have prefered. To summarize, this place doesn’t look like a nice place to eat, both inside and out and sometimes communication with the staff can be hard, but the prices are actually reasonable and the food here is very nice, and although I’d like to give more stars, I just can’t because this isn’t the nicest place to be apperance wise and because of this can only give 3.

Great place for lunch. Good food, great service and honest. I left my debit card and the wonderful waiter Giovanni ran two blocks to give it back to me. Amazing. Near Trevi Fountain.

Food is fine but portions are ridiculous. There is a 12% service charge in addition to overpriced pasta. Don’t go here

The wife and I spent the morning at the Colosseum and we wanted to escape the crazies for a minute. I had read some reviews about il Maraggio on Unilocal because my wife was ready for a gluten free pizza in Italy and we decided to give it a try. It was located between the Trevi Fountain, the Victor Emmanual Monument and the Pantheon but was super quiet since it is off the direct path between the three but not more than a mile from any. We started off our meal with the gluten free prosciutto pizza which was really good. The prosciutto was chopped up and not greasy at all. This was not the best gluten free pizza we have ever had but it was up there. After destroying our first pizza in Italy we still had wine and were hungry and were coming off the best Caprese salad we had ever had the day before so we ordered one to share. It was OK at best. The presentation was nice but no herbs and they brought me the olive oil and balsamic to put on. I’m at a restaurant so you can show me what you got, so step up and give me two good bases with a little pop! So the place is super nice and fairly quiet even though it is centrally located to the three attractions listed above(we walk a lot and found it within walking distance of the Colosseum as well). The staff did a nice job and were very friendly. The outdoor seating was comfortable with no traffic going by. Prices were OK but if you are getting gluten free you expect it. Overall nice place.

Right around the corner from the Trevi Fountain and Victor Emanuel Monument. It’s about halfway between the two. They have gluten free options. Gluten free pizza and pastas. It took about ten minutes for them to prepare it. I had a pizza. It was pretty good. The convenient location is a definite plus as well.
