Really really bad! They recycle basket of bread for each table. They grabbed a basket from their bus table grabbed a handful of breakout of a big bag with their hands and threw it in used basket and out it on our table, when we were leaving they threw it right back in. Has a bad smell and they charged us € 10 for one half bottle of wine… felt very very uncomfortable.

This place was a little hard to find at first because it is part of a few restaurant fronts that has seating on the sidewalk. The food was good. The wait staff was attentive. The pasta was down right.

I really enjoyed this meal the most of all our restaurant experiences in Rome. They are much more reasonable cost wise than a lot of them: there was no ‘bread cover charge’ like many eating establishments have here, and a four course meal was a good 5 – 7 € less than some of the others while the quality was very good. The Veggie Soup tasted like my grandmother’s, loaded with fresh veggies in a huge bowl. The salads were also quite ample and fresh. I had Tortellini in Cream Sauce with Mushrooms, which melted in your mouth. My BF had the traditional Spaghetti Bolognese, which she was very pleased with. My husband was not overly impressed with his Pizza, so this may not be the best place for that. It was located in the Hotel California(and we didn’t want to leave :), conveniently a couple blocks from the Terminal. The service was very good.

Here in Rome for a few days to end an incredible Europe trip — perfect time to experience what pizza was supposed to be like after the numerous re-interpretations that are available all over the world these days. Consulting Unilocal for some recommendations we stumbled upon Il Condor not too far from our hotel. I ordered a pizza with cheese, ham, mushrooms but without olives and my partner a pizza with seafood. The staff was attentive and welcoming, even though I personally prefer to be left rather alone, being spared the joking around as the waiters did with us and other customers. The food arrived promptly even though the place was packed. My partner and I noticed that the pizzas were kinda watery — we think that might come from the mushrooms on my, and the seafood on the other pizza. Other than that, my pizza was standard I would say. I did notice that the distribution of toppings was very uneven which left one half of the of the pizza taste a bit boring. My girlfriend remarked that her pizza was a bit sour for her taste. The tab was very moderate and as such I didn’t feel like the evening was a loss overall, however, I like to think that original Italian pizza has more to it than we were served that evening. Overall verdict: average

This was my first dining experience in this area during my stay in Rome. I wanted to try a few other places in the area before I wrote and honest review about the family owned and operated Il Condor but my initial reaction was, «This is incredible Italian food. This is the reason you go to Rome good.» After trying other Italian restaurants in the area my initial impression was spot on. So far this is the best Italian Food I’ve had during my three week stay here in Rome. When I try an Italian Restaurant for the first time I always get the Spaghetti Bolognese. Even though it’s a simple dish it’s a great indicator on how much attention to detail and quality the restaurant puts into it’s food. Il Condor had a fantastic Spaghetti Bolognese. Quite literally outstanding. I started my meal with the vegetable soup as an appetizer and it was delicious although I wasn’t counting on such a generous portion. The vegetable soup was quite filling and I though to myself, «There is no way your going to eat the pasta that’s on the way!» When my waiter brought me my pasta I noticed the superb presentation and after my first bite I realized no matter how full I was I was going to eat every last bite of this pasta… And I did. The pasta was fresh. The kind of fresh you can only get in Italy. The tomatoes were picked that morning and the pasta was made that day. It was an dining experience that everyone owes themselves to try at least once in their lifetimes. If you don’t believe me try it for yourself!

If you are looking for excellent service, I highly recommend this place. This restaurant is family owned and it is within walking distance from all hotels. Our waiter totally changed our perspective of the locals. He works hard, pay close attention to your needs and the food is excellent. I highly recommend it

Great service, great food! This was our first real Italian meal in Rome. This place is located on a nice alley nearby our hotel genova, we stopped by and loved it! Try their marinara pizza and beer while sitting outside and taking in Rome!

Il Condor Restaurant is located on the lobby-level of Hotel California, on the main strip coming from the Terminal(or «Termini» as its called in Italy). My family and I decided to try this place during our 6-day visit to Rome because it offered a 3-course meal for a mere 12 Euros; other Restaurants offered similar offers but at higher prices. The«appetizers» alone filled my wife and I up!!! We were not starving when we ate, so it was not a case of overindulgence due to that… just really healthy portions for the appetizers. The wait staff(mainly the one italian waiter that greets potential patrons at the door of the Restaurant) is over-the-top friendly! The service at this place, coupled with the great food and affordable rates, earned this place its fourth star.

We jumped on USAir and flew like the Beverly Hillbillies over to Rome. GOOOLLLLY! OH, that’s Gomer Pyle! Sorry… Anyway, it was our first time in Continental Europe and Rome turned out to be one of the jewels of our trip and the little trattorias dotting the landscape were absolutely delightful and fun! Not a bad experience to be had although I’m sure there are some stinkers out there. Fortunately, we did not make the acquaintance of any. On this particular Tuesday afternoon, we encountered Il Condor. I won’t tarry too long here because I’m trying to remember everything from over a month ago! I did keep notes though in a little spiral notebook so I could share our gastronomic adventure with y’all. We ate outdoors as it was a beautiful autumn afternoon. We had been sightseeing on a doubledecker, snapping pix at hot Romans and interesting architecture. When we espied this cute little joint, a server swooped down on us like a friendly condor and hurried us to our appointed seats like he had a huge wingspan to protect us from the other restauranteurs. Lemme tell ya… the restauranteurs were aggressive at trying to get a person to feed at their joint. I had lasagna al forno(baked lasagna which was perfectly prepared, seasoned and with the right amount of cheese and beef. It came with a simple dinner salad. For my second, course, I had braciola or pork chop. It was roasted and nothing to write home about but it wasn’t nasty either. It was a hearty meal and kept us going late into the evening as we had a tendency to dine around 8 pm due to all of our European adventures. If you’re in Rome and you see this joint, it’s an a-ok place to dine.
