Ice Cream Factory

This was the second best gelato we found in Rome. I really liked the mint chocolate, because it was more crème de menthe tasting than normal mint chocolate gelato or icecreams. Really nice, rich flavor. Great gelato.

You won’t believe me but I am going to say it anyway. This place had the best gelato I had in Italy, period! I tried gelato all over Rome, Cinque Terre, Firenze (Florence), and yes, I even tried award winning Dondoli’s in San Gimignano. No other gelateria came close to the flavor and texture offered at The Ice Cream Factory. My favorite was the pistachio. It was creamy and had tiny pieces of pistachios mixed throughout. No other place I tried had the actual pieces of pistachio. My wife got the coconut and let me try some. I’m not a huge fan of coconut, but the incredible richness and sweetness won me over. We were just wandering around after a few slices of pizza and found this little gem completely by accident. But rest assured, it will be the first place I hit as soon as I can get back to Rome. Do yourself a HUGE favor and try this place first. It will ruin you forever. No other gelato can stand up to this place.

Had the tiramisu here, which has cocoa powder on top and ice cream on the bottom. One of the best I’ve ever had :)

We ended on this small glasseriaon the end of a long. day in Rome. A good assortment of flavours on the ice cream and soft drinks. 4 euros for a large cup of ice cream!

This place was located under our hotel and on the last day in Rome we tried it and it was delicious. The server was very friends and did let us try the flavours before we got our gelato and ice cream.
There was quite a good selection of flavours to choose from and the price was eacy on the pocket.
