15mins to order a coffee and not get it? We can see that it’s just a restaurant to catch tourist. Didnt’t buy anything, the service is shit

Total scam. Cash only and OVERPRICED. Like, € 60-for-subpar-microwaveable-pasta-overpriced. We’ve been in Europe for 3 weeks, and this was not only one of the most expensive meals we had but also the #1 worst meal we ate. Ironically, the old Grandpa at the cash register sits there under a bunch of pictures of the Pope(as if he’s running his business ethically and in a holier-than-thou fashion.)

Do pass on this place. Rude staff, high school cafeteria level food that looks and taste old. And then the PRICE. I know it’s about the location but COMEON! Don’t do it. Get some icecream or a snack from one of the vendors and hold out for something better later. You’ve been warned.

After visiting St Peter’s and the Vatican, I called in this café with it being the closest one to the vatican, just to grab a quick coffee. Most of the seating is outside, with some seating inside but they isn’t a lot and this seemed to be all taken on my recent visit. They is 3 counters here; Ice cream, drinks and food and it doesn’t seem to be very organized, you have to queue normally, then go over to the ice cream part them the other part for your food/drink. I was told the gelato wasn’t gluten free, but then the guy confused me as he said«It has Milk», hence getting the two mixed up, and after this confusion, I decided it wasn’t worth the risk as in all honesty I don’t want to be unwell and they is big chances of cross contamination anyway if he is using gluten cones. I ordered an Iced Coffee, and it was actually quite nice, and one of the nicer ones I have had being in Rome. They is no wi-fi here which is a shame, especially for tourists who don’t want to pay sky high roaming charges, and they seems to be none locally you can connect to without a password. The food here didn’t look too nice either, but I don’t want to comment that much, having not tried it. They is quite a few staff working behind my bar, hence I was confused with who was doing my drink as people kept coming back to ask me, and my server seemed to had vanished, so that was confusing. One big negative however was that traders seem to target this café, one person«gave» me some weird«toys?» and he kept putting pressure on it being«free» but he didn’t seem to leave until I gave him something, and I felt forced to have to give him a few euros, and I was really outraged to when I gave it him, and I thought he had gone, he asked me for another euro, and carried on going along the line of seats outside. Someone else followed selling«selfie-sticks» and someone else approached me right before I left. For 1 iced coffee, 2 latte and a Coca-cola drink it cost 16 euros, which is actually quite expensive, even though it is located near the vatican, and to go alongside the gelato incident, the confusion with staff, the food looking poor quality, and the incident being forced to give away 4 euros, and being approached and bothered 3 times, I can only give a single 1 star. I do feel in a way I am being slightly harsh, and this rating may be changed in the future but I simply think this café is far too pricy, and I felt endangered and a little frightened when I kept getting approached, and they wouldn’t go away until I gave them a few euros(and then asked for more) so for that main reason, I have to only give 1 star.

Nice wait staff, but the fare is oh so overpriced! Ice café — espresso over ice cream — costed a whopping € 8. Gelato was ok and not so pricey.

Do not go here!!! Worst Italian food I’ve had in Italy, probably ever, and also extremely over priced. It’s right next to the Vatican and it was raining after our tour, so we ducked in. We selected a caprese salad, pasta salad, meatballs, beef stew and spaghetti with sauce from the cafeteria style line. The hot dishes were then microwaved. Everything was completely bland, no flavor and the total was $ 58 Euros which was as much as we payed for dinner with wine at at some amazing restaurants! I’d rather eat spaghetti O’s than eat at this place:)

I was baffled by how rude the staff treated customers. They ignored or rushed many of them. The prices are very high for less than mediocre food that is warmed in microwaves; aside from lacking flavor, freshness, or uniqueness. They force customers to sit with strangers. I truly believe that they don’t care about customer satisfaction because most of their clients are one-time tourists.

(4÷12÷2014) We through Vatican City with a tour group. Caffe San Pietro was our designated meeting spot. It’s conveniently located just outside St. Peter’s Square on the major thoroughfare and is easily visible. The«self-service» is efficient(a little brusque), but they’ll carry your tray and help you find seating(be prepared to share your table with a few strangers, they really pack ‘em in. Prices are very high for what you’re getting, portions are small and food is not very good(bland, low quality, old). Sit outside at your own peril, you’ll be bombarded by a barrage of handbag and scarf hawkers, strolling musicians, and old women begging for change.

The pastas are worse than Chef Boyardee. Overcooked noodles, the pasta sauce is orange/soupy, and they heat the food with a microwave right in front of you. Swing by the register area to see for yourself. This place has 2 stars on trip advisor and the current Unilocal rating of 4 stars is way off. I’d say that the portions are small but the food was so terrible I didn’t finish it anyway. I’m going to have nightmares about this meal.

An institution along the avenue heading to San Pietro. Despite being overcrowded with tourists all the time it offers good food and home made desserts, plus ice cream and every kind of drinks. There are a few tables outside and a lot of indoor space. Toilets are downstairs, there’s always a waiting line even though there are several stalls, and they are cleaned several times per day by the personnel standing right there.

3.10.11 Die Touristenbusse halten vor der Tür. Manchmal Massenandrang. Teuer aber ordentlich. Nichtbesucher können auch auf die Toilette(Toilettenfrau unten) Personal trotz Stress freundlich.
