Our Welcome Dinner for our Globus Italy’s Great Cities tour was at Risorante Alle Due Fontanelle around the block and down from our hotel. Now were were about to immerse in the famous multi-course Mediterranean style of dining! Alle Due Fontanelle appeared to be popular place to dine. Its three rooms were quite full. Earlier in the evening tour groups were here and premoninated. Then, as the evening progressed to a more fashionable Italian dinner hour, couples and small groups arrived. I would say the majority were out-of-towners, but there were certainly Italians dining here, too. An antipasto dish with salami, prosciutto and cheese started the meal. First course was a pasta dish with spaghetti in pesto and penne pasta. Second course was Veal with Artichokes with sides of green beans and lettuce. This was topped off with a slice of fresh berry cake. All delicious! The meal was not as filling as it might sound from the description! Portions are just right. The food here was great, but in Italy, it just kept getting better!
