Riomaggiore is the first of the Cinque Terre Villages as you come from the direction of Porto Venere. There is a small harbour and port where Gayle and I landed via Ferry Boat. You can also take the Train here. Unfortunately, we were unable to walk over from Manarola as the main trail was closed. It’s a pretty town to walk around and with some great views.

This is the first station for the 5 villages in Cinque Terre. It starts from La Spezia Central towards Manarola. This village is the most eastern and the nearest village to La Spezia thats why it the first village you visit. The village has a beautiful tunnel to get in and It’s interesting to see the seashore.
These villages are very interesting to see and each village is a little different and must be checked out.

Riomaggiore est un village des CINQUE TERRE. C’est un vieux bourg installé dans une petite et merveilleuse vallée plantée de vignes. Son nom dérive du ruisseau (rio) qui descend joyeusement en petites cascades, le long d’un profond et tortueux couloir, se jetant dans une petite plage.
Le village est caractérisé par des terrasses fleuries et par d’étroites ruelles en côte alternées avec des escaliers en pierre peuplés de nombreux touristes qui affectionnent ces beaux recoins pourtant simples et modestes. La petite plage, toujours ensoleillée, la mer cristalline et turquoise, font de Riomaggiore une localité idéale des vacances de détente.
