We finished every evening with a stop to try a new flavor. My husband’s absolute favorite gelato from all of our travels. Of course, the beautiful view of moonlight and water can make any dessert seem magical. Reasonably priced, extremely friendly and helpful with descriptions and samples. There really is something magical about a scoop at the end of a long hot day of hiking. Enjoy!

Assortment of flavors; a little on the sweet side, but good

Gelateria Centrale is without a doubt the greatest gelato I’ve ever had. Granted I haven’t had the opportunity to try too many gelaterias, but I can’t imagine it getting any better than this!
I stayed in Riomaggiore for the weekend (2 nights) and managed to stop by 4 times… and even though that might sound like a gross amount of times I enjoyed every single bite each time and definitely could’ve stayed for more! One of my favorite flavors ever is pistachio when it’s made correctly so I was dying to try it out! The first sample I had made me fall in love. The gelato tasted exactly like perfectly roasted pistachios in a creamy form. It tasted so real and fresh and at that moment I knew how much I loved Italy.
Here’s a short list of all of the flavors I tried (again, I’m not ashamed!)
Pistachio — ¹⁰⁰⁄₁₀
Chocolate — ⁹⁄₁₀
Chocolate with Hazelnut — ⁷⁄₁₀
Nutella — 8.5÷10
Banana — ⁸⁄₁₀
Watermelon — ¹⁰⁄₁₀
Peach — ¹⁰⁄₁₀
Even if you aren’t staying in Riomaggiore, you should definitely make the trip to try this place! At 2 euros for 2 scoops and 2.50 for 3 scoops, it’s a deal you can’t refuse!

After learning what to look for in authentic and traditionally made gelato, from all natural ingredients with no nasty extras, on a food tour in Rome, we were pretty sure this place was going to be good from the get go.
There was no bright green or yellow in sight. The banana flavour was a creamy white colour and the pistachio was an earthy green. There were no high teetering mounds of gelato either (which indicates unnatural stabilisers and unnecessary air to pump it up). The gelato a were all staying well put in their containers as they should be!
I had dark chocolate and pistachio the first visit. The husband had macadamia and crema. All four flavours were delicious and REAL tasting! Next visit I had banana and Nutella and the husband had coconut and macadamia again. Loved it. Highly recommend this place for good gelato in Riomaggiore!
They also make milkshakes from any flavour gelato you like! And you know what a sucker I am for a milkshake. I may have tried a choc chip one. Yuh-​huh. Best.

Ich habe hier mal vor vielen Jahren das beste Eis gegessen, das ich jemals gegessen habe! Ich war zwar lange nicht mehr dort, aber es war wirklich unglaublich gut! Falls ich irgendwann nochmals nach Riomaggiore oder Umgebung komme, werde ich auf jeden Fall diese Eisdiele aufsuchen!
