This place is the bomb. Within 5 minutes of leaving, my partner and I decided that we were going to come back again the next day, that’s how good it was. Their ragu is quite possibly the best thing I have ever eaten, both times I ate there. The staff are all amazingly friendly and went out of their way to seat us even though we had unwittingly come at the end of their lunch hours. This place had no tourists and felt like a local hangout, but the staff spoke great English and explained in detail their pasta and ragu preparation process. I had their special of the day, which was fettuccine with prosciutto, ragu, and ricotta. I highly recommend getting one of the ragu dishes with ricotta because it goes so nicely with the sauce. Each meal was so good — perfectly prepared al dente pasta and mouthwatering, flavorful ragu sauce, full of tender, falling-apart pieces of meat(quite different from other ragu I’ve had in the past)… even just writing this review is making my mouth water. Seriously, cannot recommend this place enough. If I ever return to Naples, I am coming here again.

Hungry for lunch in Naples? Tired of eating great pizza? Tandem was a super find! The best ragu! The gnocchi were little pillows covered in a hearty ragu. The prices were very reasonable, the staff friendly, and the portions huge. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is in a fun area of Naples, near lots of lively bars and cafes. We booked when they first opened for 9 pm, and I’d recommend you do so as they will book up. We sat outside and ordered drinks from the friendly server, and then dug into our ragu. I can’t remember exactly what we got — I think I got a long pasta and my partner got gnocchi. The gnocchi was like a pasta bake really, mixed in with cheese, though mine was not like that and just had a dusting of cheese on top. We really enjoyed the arugula, tomato, and Parmesan salad alongside — it is a little bitter, but the quality of ingredients is primo. I enjoyed the food more than my partner did, and as he doesn’t write reviews online I’m bumping mine down a notch from 4 to 3. He thought his gnocchi was far too rich — not a complaint he normally makes, so you know he means it — and actually felt a bit ill afterwards. Not from bad food, but from the heavy richness of the meal. And I’m the one who finished the gnocchi left on his plate, ha! I don’t think the pasta is homemade, but if anybody wants to correct me, that’s fine. I enjoyed the hearty, meaty, flavorful, rich sauce, but it is heavy food and you should prepare yourself for a gut-busting experience! Clearly a local favorite with lots of Italians eating alongside us. The more delicate-stomached amongst us should steer clear, those with hearty appetites, go forth!

Small restaurant in an alley with less traffic than tribunali. Lovely food — got a scarpetta ragù with provolone and radicchio salat. Very simple, very nice. Extremely tasty. The service was good too. Was lucky to get a table without reservation

Error. I encara sort!

No need to keep repeating the other reviews on this place… Ragu is incredible. I’m going to remember it for many years! When in Naples… go to Tandem. Easily a 5 star rating. The prices are sooooo affordable. We had a bottle of red wine for $ 15, or we could have ordered a bottle of the house wine for $ 9! Entrees are about $ 7-$ 19 euros!

Oh my. This restaurant serves the best ragu I have ever had. The tomato sauce is thick, sweet and savory at the same time, the meat melts in your mouth and the fresh ricotta blended in there made it all soooooo freakin good. I had(as you probably figured), the ragu with ricotta, and topped it of with an argula, cherry tomato and Parmesan salad on the side. I even got some gluten free bread sticks on the side! Everything was so delicious, I am truly sad that I’m leaving tomorrow so I can’t eat there again. The place itself is small, but full of Italians(in case you wonder, that is a really good thing), and the staff is incredibly nice and polite. They even offered me gluten free beer although it wasn’t in the menu. Thumbs up for this one people! Especially those of you looking for amazing authentic Italian food, that is also gluten free! I’m going to dream about this place tonight.

Great alternative to pizza. The ragu-based dishes iare what you expect every restaurant to have but none do.

I hope you like ragu because it seems to be the only recipe the chef knows. You can have it with pasta, bread, meatballs… But in the end it is always the same sauce. Is is good, mind you. A little bit on the salty side(I had it with gnocchi and provola) but good nonetheless. The cheese and charcuterie platter we had for antipasti was a bit of a letdown on the other hand. The waiter(owner?) was too busy chatting on Facebook to really look after us so we felt a bit unwelcome. Overall ok food for a reasonable price but the menu could use more options.

Delicious simple food. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Good wine by the bottle and half bottle. A lovely place to visit. Full of locals enjoying their meals, and a few tourists who can’t believe their luck in chancing upon the place. The rigatoni with ragu was fantastic. A huge portion of rich deep flavoured tomato passata with lumps of meat and sausage, and fantastic al dente pasta. Thoroughly recommended.

So good, so cheap. The cheese plate was HUGE for four Euros, the bottle of house wine reasonable and drinkable. I had grilled veal and my mother had meatballs in sauce, so delicious.

Of all the places I’ve eaten in Italy, this is the only place who had spaghetti sauce the way my grandmother cooked it! They slow cook the tomatoes with the roast for 7(+) hours. The menu is basically this«ragu» sauce with a menu of pastas to select from. They bring out a little bag of the uncooked pasta so you know what all the different options are. And they even had a vegetarian option :) They spoke English well. It’s in the heart of the historic center. There’s a little apartment across the street where a kid comes out and plays with the customers. I would absolutely do again!
