This restaurant was recommended by our host Stephen. It did not disappoint. Food and service were excellent. I had the black and white pasta with mussels, which had such good texture and flavor. Was possibly the best pasta I’ve ever had. My wife had the crab penne which was also delicious. Their seafood is super fresh! A perfect complement to this beautiful setting.

Came to this restaurant partly because Hotel Punta Mesco recommended and said that we could get 10% discount because they own the restaurant. So good we ate there twice. Seafood special(48 euros) and two orders of seafood pasta fed 5 adults to the point of food coma. Second night ordered the grilled mixed fish, linguine with pesto, fried calamari and prawns and steamed mussels. Every dish was delicious. Each night they gave us 15% off our bill which we returned for the tip. Don’t miss the chance to eat here. Fills up fast so reservations may be helpful with a large group.

We were very lucky to get a seat outside with a view of the ocean without a reservation. As the night went on, most of the other outside tables were reserved… so book ahead if you really want to sit outside. This was probably one our favorite dinners in our two week trip in Italy. Our server was very nice and suggested the pesto and black and white pasta with mussels. Both were very good. We also started with the fruit of the sea salad which was very refreshing. I would highly suggest dining here during you stay!

Giving four stars for the food and the view. We had the Calamari fritti(best ever), the swordfish(excellent), and the linguini with pesto(hearty and delicious). Service was quite slow and required many reminders which was annoying. The style here is long dinners, which was just fine for us in this beautiful place.

Un des rares restaurant à servir tard. Du monde, bruyant on s’attendait à pas terrible. Et bonne surprise c’est bon et pas cher. Spaghetti del mare…

Pornagrafio di Mare. I’m not sure if that’s Italian for seafood porn, but that’s what I’m trying to convey. Wonderful beachfront location. Our group of 5 had several fine dishes: Pesto, anchovies, calamari, prawns, etc. But my daughter and I split the show stopper: the house special. The restaurant advertised it as a fish stew for 48 euro which feeds 2. This is one of the most fantastic cases of underadvertising I’ve ever encountered, and one of the best dishes ever. The presentation is fantasically unceremonious: The server comes out with a vat of stew and dumps it in your bowl. And what comes out? The entire f*cking ocean, that’s what. Floating in a rich, killer tomato seafood broth was: 4 huge prawns, 6 – 10 abalone(or at least we think) 30 – 40 mussels, several generous fish chunks, an entire baby octopus, and a small, albeit whole lobster. Again, fish stew is a massive understatement. 48 euro is a steal. In the US this type of seafood haul would cost $ 100. Lordy. And can 2 people take down this much tasty ridiculousness? Sure… if they’ve just hiked the whole Cinque Terre. This meal can feed 3 for sure, maybe 4. Augment it with some basic pasta, and for 75 euro, your group of 4 can eat like sea royalty. Fantastic place, fantastic value.

Delicious food, great dishes varieties, big plates, inexpensive. Pasta with mushrooms € 8, veal with mushroom 2(large pieces) € 11, tiramisu or panna cota for € 5, great bottle of chianti classico for € 14. Expresso € 1. Go for it, i only found it on my last night in Monterosso. I wish I had found this in my first day so I could come back again.

Had dinner with friends from New Jersey here. Had a table of six and a lot of fun. Good wine, good food, and on the water. Had the veal with mushrooms and my girlfriend had mussels with white and black pasta. Great service and would definitely return to this restaurant.

Great outdoor seating. I had the black and white pasta with mussels and I found myself craving this dish for the rest of the trip. Gorgeous view of the water! We were able to book a same-day reservation on the patio for 7:00pm during the busy season. Would love to return to this restaurant!

Disappointing after reading other reviews. Had the mixed fish plate. Mostly over cooked. Good service though.

In Monterosso, there are only a few spots that locals frequent and Belvedere is one of them. The food is excellent. I’ve eaten here more times than I can count and have never been disappointed.

The quality of the good was not up to standard. I ordered a minestrone soup and received a pesto broth soup without vegetables. Then when the waiter returned he didn’t even ask if I liked the soup. I found that not be genuine caring and concern. I ordered a sea bass for my main course and that was good. If you want a quiet place this may not be the best. The train departs every 30 minutes close by and it sounds like the roof in the restaurant is caving in every 30 minutes.

This place was mainly picked because of the location and because Rick Steves mentioned it. And it was a great choice. We had a variety of seafood and pasta and we were all pleased with the selection. And of course the location was great for watching sun worshipers head to the beach. There was a little too much truck traffic on this day as vendors were selling their stuff along the beach.

4*Ristorante Belvedere Piazza Garibaldi Monterosso Located between the city center and La Castella Nice view of marina and castle on the hill Food server(Giobe?) was efficient and polite I hate the regular restaurant house bread in CT5; so plain compared to their other baked versions. Excellent insalata mista Very good veal limone Good, inexpensive house white wine 2 € coperto(cover charge)

Most of our lunches in Italy were good, but not very memorable. After a morning at the beach, ristorante belvedere was a great lunch and left quite an impression. We ordered the mixed seafood appetizer for two. It felt like the food never ended!! This appetizer had both hot and cold options for tasting and some very interesting flavors. I never liked anchovies before and probably would have never ordered it, but each way that they were served in this appetizer, I fell in love. The stuffed anchovies were my favorite. The cold options including the codfish and pickled onions and the sliced tuna and tomato were so tasty! The potato croquettes and zucchini frittata that this comes with is a nice addition as well. Not knowing the large quantity of the fish appetizer, we also ordered the pesto bruschetta. Anywhere in monterosso makes amazing pesto so just order it everywhere! The black and white pasta with mussels was sweet and very delicious. The pasta was definitely homemade, very unique as well, and the sauce complimented the mussels perfectly.

Amazing food and location. We had the house special fish soup and the bruschetta with pesto which were both superb. The pesto is perfect and the broth in the soup is to die for. I was hesitant to eat the octopus but it was incredibly tender and delicious. Great location overlooking the water. Very romantic.

Great location for dinner, right on the waterfront. Menu was simple but had a lot of nice options, we both opted for pasta dishes, including the spagetti bolognese and the pasta with mussels. The food was fresh and well made, but to be honest I wasn’t overwhelmed with the flavour. The pesto bruschetta was very good, so much so that I wish I’d ordered the pesto as my main! Service was quick but the servers were all running around in the very hectic place, so lacked any real warmth or welcome– but as others mentioned this is a heavy tourist area, so not altogether surprising.

Great place with a beautiful waterfront view. Had the pesto in just about everything I ordered and couldn’t get enough of it. This was better, dare I say, than my homemade pesto! Others in my party had a variety of anchovy apps and were very pleased as well. It was a little pricey, but we all walked out fat & happy tourists!

Walked by this place and saw the seafood clay pot being served to a lunch group, had a serious case of food envy and had to get it. The seafood was some of the freshest, tastiest and well cooked I have had. The seafood dish comes in a clay pot in a bit of a soup and had the full works from lobster to full octopus, calamari, shrimps, etc. Moreover, it can easily be shared by 2 – 3 people and is great value! While it is touristy, like most of cinque terra, I would highly recommend the place both for the experience overlooking the water, clay pot and for the food of course!
