Maggiore Rent

Rented at Milano Centrale. Since I paid in advance I expected the process to go quickly. Two people ahead of me and it took almost 40 minutes to complete the process. Had to walk a bit to pick up the vehicle … not a problem but when I arrived I had to wait again to wash the car and then had to follow one of their people to a service station to fill up … REALLY? Customer service rating in my opinion is low but what made the experience difficult is that the cigarette lighter in the car didn’t work so we were unable to charge our GPS or phones. Luckily we made it to our destination with bare minimum of power left on the GPS. Overall not a positive experience with Maggiore.

Avoid at all cost.
The car we rented from them broke down somewhere on a mountain road, nearly sending us to an early (yet scenic) death.
Luckily we were near an eco-​tourismo farm, and they were kind enough to let us use their phone and call Maggiore for a tow truck.
We waited for hours to the tow truck, no one came.
We called again, they were rude on the phone and had no recollection of the previous phone call, but said they’ll send someone now.
Again no one came. We called again.
This repeated several times for several hours, with not a single apology from Maggiore and while we’re stranded at the side of the road and it’s getting colder and darker around.
We ended up staying the night on the farm. Thank god for eco-​tourismo farms and the kindness of Italians that are not Maggiore’s employees.
The story didn’t end there.
We kept getting rude and dismissing responses from Maggiore’s representatives, 2 whole days of our trip were wasted, the replacement car we got had a broken GPS and no fuel (although we had to return it with full tank, it was in our contract), and the icing on the cake– Maggiore tried to charge us extra 800 Euros for fixing their car that nearly killed us.
Bottom line– don’t let Maggiore ruin your trip. Avoid this company at all cost.

Not only did I get a terrible service when I got to the office, waited for a very long time, had to go off site to print a copy of my confirmation page because just providing them with a confirmation number was nit enough, BUT when I got back I got home, I received 3 additional charges from them. One because supposedly I returned the car 34 minutes late and they charged me an extra day. I was NOT late arriving at their center, it just took them an hour to check me in. Once checked in, I asked if everything was in order and they said everything is fine. I asked if i need something to reflect that the car was returned in time and everything was in order and they said no. 2 months later I get a charge that my credit card company says that unless I have proof that the car was returned on time they cannot do anything.
The other 2 charges are from 2 supposed tickets that I got while I had the car. I did not get any tickets.
Will never use this company again. Neither should you!
