Nothing too exciting about this place. We came here based on TripAdvisor reviews and because it was close to where we were staying. The menu itself was quite enticing with many interesting options, but the dishes lacked flavour. We had the pasta with truffles and could barely taste any truffle, cheap shaving of truffles also(initially we thought that this was the norm, but when we made it to Montepulciano, we realized how cheap the truffle portion was… check out my other pictures). We were starving that night so we also had the pasta with boar ragu… it just also just OK. Lacked once again seasoning and you couldn’t really tell that it was boar. It could have been beef or pork and would have probably tasted the same. We finished with the tagliata in mushroom sauce(they didn’t have artichokes that night). This was the better of the three dishes. Good cut of meat and creamy mushroom sauce that paired well with it. However, being a tagliata you don’t get as much char flavour from the meat than from a real florentine steak, so just be conscious of that when ordering. If you’re in the area and staying a long time in Florence than this is not a bad option. However if you’re like us and only spending a couple of days in Florence then skip this place. You’ll be disappointed in spending a precious dining experience here with the limited time you have.

We found this place near our Hotel. We were curious because the place was crowded every time we were passing by. So, if you’re lucky to get a table, you’ll love the food! All the pasta is homemade, the menu is not to long and and the dishes are quite unique compared to the restaurants around the old city and the prices are more than fair. Try it!

I had high hopes for this place, but was disappointed. I started with the leek sformatino that is served with pancetta and a pecorino fonduta. This sounds much better than it actually was: a glob of an undercooked mushy flan doing the doggy paddle in a flood of melted cheese with two strips of bacon(a bit crunchy because of the added cartilage). Such a poorly constructed dish saddened me, yet(ahimè) I suffered through it. The second dish was encouraging, but bit of a flop: pici senesi served with a duck ragù. I have been quite unlucky with duck ragùs in my short life and this one continued my losing streak. It tasted more like a red sauce with pieces of duck meat. It never came together like a ragù should. The house wine(red) was a potable Chianti. I will not go back.
