Wow. It doesn’t get much better than this. This is the time for Tartufo Bianco, and this place knows how to serve it. Besides the complimentary shot glass of Zuppa di porri & patate, we were served a small«pre-dessert» of vanilla gelato, over which our most excellent server shaved some Tartufo Bianco. OMG! Fungus on ice cream? Who does this? It was spectacular! We had also asked the waiter to suggest a wine to go with our fresh pasta with Tartufo Bianco. We forgot to think about the price. The wine he selected was perfect — a blend of Sangiovese and two other grapes. It had a bit of a bite, and cut thru the cremoso pasta. It was perfect. And when the bill came, we saw it was only € 25. Superb. The service, the plates, the attention to detail were phenomenal. Small dining area — all the better. We met. Young woman from New York(and a nearby table) and next to her, two women from Holland. By the end of the meal, we were all friends, United by the exemplary flavors. Very much worth the slightly more expensive price than most places — a truly uplifting experience, with a great balance of price vs food. The best plate with Tartufo Bianco I’ve ever had.

The restaurant has a couple rooms, we were seated in a room filled with bottles of wine — and they used them, plucking bottles down as they were ordered. It’s a little on the formal side, service-wise, so if you’re looking for a boisterous, gregarious experience, this isn’t the best place for you. But if you’re looking for an intimate, romantic restaurant with excellent food and great wine options, this is your place.

My husband & I were lucky enough to have a personal cooking class with the owner & chef. It was one of the best experiences of our lives. We made a 5 course meal over 3 hours & then spent the next 2 hours eating our creations and enjoying wonderful wine. I would recommend cooking class here to anyone, or even just dining here… the restaurant is set up very neat and cozy… with wine bottles around on the shelves. very warm and romantic. Thank you for such an amazing experience. We loved every minute of it

A spectacular meal, with probably the best service, and the most extraordinarily delicious espresso we have had since we arrived in Italy.

I visited Olio e Convivium for two reasons– an attractive storefront display and I was waiting for a restaurant to open. It was a good decision. They have an amazing selection of delectable prosciuttos ranging from 45−150/kg. I lingered in front trying to decide how to sample all of them on my limited budget. I first asked for a limited weight of each. No, says the counter man. Then I ask for a slice of each. No, says the counter man. Finally, I decide I will ask for 25 grams of the two most expensive ones, the Cinta Senese Prosciutto(€ 120/kilo), or the Spagnolo Pata Negra Prosciutto(€ 150/kilo). You can sense the irritation, but he consented to that request. He wrapped two slices each and handed them to me. I checked for prices, looked at him inquisitively and he shooed me away. Thank you, Olio!
