I wish I could go back, this place was amazing. It was right across from our Hotel and we were so hungry after our long bus ride with out tour group from Venice. We had the Carbonara and it was amazing. Everyone was so nice and helpful. When we go back to Italy this will be our first stop.

Right across the street from the Grand Hotel Adriatico sits Maso. There are several hotels right around it, so yes you will get a lot of tourists. I didn’t find it to be lacking in service, quality dishes or anything else that, that label sometimes denotes. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was out of this world buttery with plenty of pancetta to give it a salty kick. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. I found the atmosphere low key. It was a great meal. I would recommend it if you need something close to the hotel.

We came to have some wine and stayed for dinner. Mason was a perfect place to spend our last night in Florence. It was a rainy cold night and we had vegetable soup and my wife had prawn soup, which was actually the best. We then moved on to a calzone which we split and it was a good size for a split. We got gorgonzola and ham. We ended the night with a tiramisu which was incredibly custardy and not overly sweet. The staff was very efficient and I’d highly recommend Maso.

Maso was across the street from our hotel and we didn’t really feel like going too far out of the way to get dinner. They were recommended by our tour guide. I regret that we didn’t actually try the pizza here, because that’s obviously their best thing. But we were all pizza’ed out at that point. I had the spaghetti bolognese and really enjoyed it. We also tried the house red wine and it was good too. Service was excellent.

Embarrassed to write this review — because it shows I was ensnared by this tourist trap — don’t let it happen to you. I was a Dad with kids late in Florence. The place I researched was closed and kids were hungry so I went here against my better judgment. The food is worse than Olive Garden — it is a real shame to have something so awful in Italy. Overcooked pasta comes out so fast — must be sitting in a hot plate. Sauce tastes like tomato purée straight from the can. My pasta loving boys didn’t even want to finish or take it home.

Pizza Masò(spicy sausage, sausage, wurstel, ham, tomato sauce, mozzarella) $ 10 is their signature pie and very good. The meat lovers pie(no veges) is enough for two as a late dinner snack. Brick oven for pies. Free wifi.

This place is an authentic Italian Restaurant. All dishes were good, tasty and fresh. Prices are good as well.

Fantastic food with good portion sizes at very reasonable prices. Excellent service — very attentive, but not overly so. Good location. Went there multiple times during vacation in Florence, Italy. Casual — indoor and covered patio. I cannot wait to go back to Maso. Highly recommend.

It’s Easter Sunday, so options were limited for dining. Service was prompt and polite, the location was away from the huge crowds, and the food was good. I had the ricotta and spinach stuffed ravioli. The raviolis were good, but the truffle sauce was great! So truffly! Washed it down with a beer. Overall a good experience.

WARNING: TOURISTRESTAURANT!!! Quite packed inside and out, but I didn’t see any Italians eating here. However, the service is friendly, food is alright not great, and the portions are HUGE! 10 euro shrimp pasta was OK, but enough for two share, and this is coming from someone with a huge appetitie! 13 euro Chef’s salad… average…go get a salad somewhere else! 3.50 euro glass of house wine 2 euro cover charge per person We didn’t order a pizza, but they looked good and were quite large. The 4th Star is for the big portions, but avoid the salads… meh :P

We really liked this restaurant. It was down the street from our hotel and we decided to stop in for lunch. We sat outside and had salad/pizza/beer for lunch. On our way out, we ran into the owner and asked about the steak florentine. He told us it was the best around, that we should come for dinner and if we don’t like, we don’t pay for it. We did return for dinner and it was excellent. After dinner, our server brought us limoncello from the owner. If we are fortunate enough to visit Florence again, we will definitely find our way to Maso.

This wasn’t our favorite restaurant/meal from our trip, but certainly not the worst either. It’s located a bit near the train station in a somewhat random neighborhood, so it was not crowded at all. Large outdoor seating area, decent food, reasonable prices, and large portions — definitely not a bad choice if you’re in the area but not worth a special trip. I recommend avoiding the house white wine though; it had a strong butter flavor to it and was generally not good. Service was friendly and overall we had a nice dinner here.
