After a long day in Sienna and arriving home in Florence, we were famished from the road and opted for Chinese food. We were looking for one restaurant, but could not find it and decided this place might do. Walked in, and the man(owner?) begins speaking Chinese to my wife, who is Korean and doesn’t speak Chinese. We ask for an English menu and he grabs to a menu and throws it on the table and immediately walks away. We sit down and a few minutes later a young lady asks what we would like… in English. The English menu only had a few generic items, so we ordered fried rice with shrimp and chicken chow mein. We asked how large the portions were and she looked around at each table to show us, but there were no dishes to see, so she couldn’t answer. We said we may order more if needed. A few minutes go by and a Chinese couple sat next to us at the same table. Normally this wouldn’t bother us, but there were plenty of tables available throughout the place. The server begins chatting with the couple and they order right away. We waited for about 15 minutes and noticed that the Chinese menu had pictures and more appetizing items. We were really hungry by this point and began to wonder what’s taking so long. Just then some food came out of the kitchen and was given to the Chinese couple next to us. WTH! Our order was not that complicated. Some more food came out… again for the couple… and then some rice. A few minutes later some more food comes out of the kitchen, this time for a take out order. After over 25 minutes of waiting I decided that we should just pay for the bottle of water and leave. As soon as I stood up out comes our food. The plate of fried rice and chow mein was barely enough to be called a children’s size. I asked the man for some chopsticks and he walked away as though he didn’t hear me, but literally threw them on the table and again walked away silently. We were so frustrated by the service that we decided to eat quickly and leave. The meal was not worth 5Euros, let alone the 8Euros we paid. I do not recommend this place to anyone if you don’t speak Chinese. I would be surprised if this place is still open in a month. Some people may think that all Chinese restaurants in Italy are the same, this place certainly isn’t…at least I hope not. Terrible service, just average food. Perhaps the items on the Chinese menu were better. We will never know. They might as well put a sign that says, «Chinese customers welcome… all others just walk away.»
