We stumbled upon Konnubio walking down the street from our hotel. What caught our eye initially was how beautiful the inside was, then we saw the menu. with. VEGANOPTIONS. It was a little late for lunch but too early for dinner(about 2:45) and the restaurant was about to close. Luckily, the staff was amazing and sat us despite the time! We ordered the Cous Cous appetizer and salads for lunch. All were amazing and were so thankful to have stumbled upon such a great place with vegan options.

Very disappointed in this place. We don’t mind spending a little extra for small portions if the food is right, which was definitely not the case. Ordered the wild salmon, which was 27 euros, unfortunately it was overcooked and very dry. Salmon is very simple, but has a small window of time where you can easily overcook it. For a place that holds itself high enough to charge almost 30 euros for 2 very small pieces of salmon, I would have expected it to be at least cooked CORRECTLY! I have made better salmon at home! In the front of the menu it lists the«team» and the special chef they have that evening. that’s how special this place is supposed to be. This chef doesn’t know how to cook salmon?! Needless to say I was very disappointed. Do not charge 27 euros if you do not know how to cook it. Presentation was nice and the ambience is nice too, that is what the 1 star is for.

We decided to try this place based on a review on Eater. Eater came through as always! This was our favorite meal in Florence, and I think our favorite meal of our whole Italy trip. The menu was pretty large with a nice assortment of fish, meat, vegetarian, and even VEGAN dishes! It was so nice to have so many awesome options. Everything was amazing, starting with the amuse. It was an eggplant cream with a little bite of fish and some potato chips. It was really good. Then they brought out 4 – 5 types of homemade breads(including a delicious focaccia and a little cheesy bread ball… so good!). My husband was in heaven. We had 2 starters, 2 pastas, and an entrée. They were all delicious. One starter was super creative. It was a pea cappuccino, which was a riff on breakfast. There was a plate with a cappuccino cup that had an amazing pea soup and then there was a little croissant and prosciutto sandwich next to it. The pastas were some of the best we’ve had on this trip. The gnocci pretty much melted in your mouth. The meal ended with this super cute plate of 5 mini desserts which were each delicious. My husband wants to sign up for a tripadvisor account just to rate this place and say it deserves 10 stars! :)(actually he was at 100 by the end of the meal). The service was also excellent. We would return tomorrow night for dinner if we were still in town!

My favorite meal in Florence! I had the seitan dish over a salad. Very good! My mom had a cous cous curry dish that was also excellent! Would definitely go back!

We looked for a new place to try in the city after looking around online. Konnubio seemed promising, so we went for dinner. The atmosphere initially was nice and low-key until we noticed the music, a really cheesy blend of lounge-Mediterranean-lite tracks. There was no wine list offered for glasses of wine, so I ordered a glass of prosecco that had been sitting out for awhile — it was room temperature, not at all cold and definitely not worth 7 euro. Portion was undersized compared to other restaurants. Our waiter seemed disinterested about the wine and about the food. Why is he working there? The only saving grace was the food — I really appreciate innovation in a city so bound by tradition, so for a restaurant to have vegan plates and a delightful codfish appetizer cooked in 3 methods was a welcome change. I had the monkfish with tomato which was a bit undercooked for my taste, topped with lettuce that seemed arbitrarily chosen. The tartare was very nice and tender, could have used more seasoning. + points for creativity, — points for service and atmosphere. Many restaurants decide wrongly that any kind of music is better than silence, which I vehemently disagree with and will argue against anytime.

I first read about Beatrice Segoni during the exhibition of Pontormo at the Palazzo Strozzi in March 2014. Beatrice was one of the great chefs in the book of Pontormo’s Table created by Art Historian Annamarie Tossani and Italian Food Journalist Annamaria Tossoni. I soon learnt that she worked with Italian master chef Gianfranco Vissani for more than three years. At the time the book Pontormo’s Table was published Beatrice was the head chef at Hotel Lungarno, Borgo San Jacopo. Followed by a short time at Convivium Firenze to finally arrive at Konnubio. Konnubio’s perfect setting of contemporary and traditional style makes you immediately feel at home. The professional friendly staff are attentive and accommodating. For lunch I chose the fish tasting starter, first course and second course. The fresh tuna was top quality, the hand made small gnocchi was too perfection and the monkfish was outstanding. Mario had the Seitan Carpaccio and Diego enjoyed spaghetti Ragu’. You can find a large selection of Vegan and gluten free products. The wine list is also excellent. All round I will certainly be adding this restaurant to my list of Florentine favourites.

For the vegans: I went for lunch and there was only one thing on the menu that was vegan and that sounded awful from the description, crispy seitan in broth. Pretty ridiculous considering their menu and advertising has the word ‘vegan’ everywhere. They could at least have one pasta without eggs. One star for a beautiful restaurant that I was sad to leave.

That’s a perfect place for a romantic night. The room is beautiful(admire the lamps above the counter), the waiters are classy, and they keep giving you free food /drinks inbetween courses(scored the night we went: a complimentary glass of prosecco, a free and delicious peppered vegetable soup as appetizer, free biscuits and a free glass of liquor at the end of the meal!!) As for the food, it is a bit uneven, which explains why I didn’t put 5 stars. Definitely go for their € 10 house spaguettis, very very good. The € 13 parmigiano-arugula chicken and the € 12 bunless burger were blander — lots of meat, not enough work on it. But overall, everything is so cute and made to make you feel good that I pardon those small mistakes — I’m sure this place will evolve into a 5 stars soon :)

Great meal with wife and kids(4 and 6). Attentive service and a nice three pound steak did the trick. The server was very nice to our kids and made good food suggestion. We for a free apéritif as we waited for the table, kids got orange juice in champagne fluets which they loved. The kids burgers are served medium rare with no bun, to be expected I guess but our an fyi if you have a picky eater. Atmosphere would be good for a date sans kids but they keep following is everywhere we go.

I’ve been on the road in Europe for 32 days, and this place is one of the top two meals I have eaten on this trip. You will not regret it. This is the second place I’ve eaten in Europe that I wish I could give a sixth Unilocal star. Service– 5⁄5 incredible, genuine welcome. Server Luis is the bomb. Best quality and friendliest service I’ve seen on this entire 32 day trip. Took the time to explain menu items and to treat us so kindly. We left him an additional 15% on top of the service tax since he deserves it. Food– — Welcomed with a glass of prosecco — «Amuse Bouche» of panzanella — Octopus with tomato, olives, fresh herbs– 5⁄5 out of this world good. Clean, fresh and very Mediterranean. Warm octopus served on a bed of greens. — Spaghetti– 4⁄5 we got the meat one with sausage in it. I recommend eating it with bread as it’s very salty from all of the meat. Tastes better if you share and just have a smaller portion as it is very rich and heavy. — Filet wrapped in bacon– 5⁄5 cooked to perfection with a nice sear on the outside. — Limoncello cream with cookies as a finisher. Start to finish one of the best dining experiences you will have in Europe at an EXTREMELY affordable price. $ 59 Euros for bread, a bottle of water, glass of wine, octopus, spaghetti, and a steak. Tip: if you can call to make a reservation, they have a super cool table that is up a small staircase that looks down on the restaurant. Ask for that one. We were lucky enough to sit here before a reservation rolled in! It’s perfect and so very special. Tip: go for dinner and not lunch– nice candlelight everywhere! Lastly…Just eat here. You’ll be so very, very happy you did.

Amazing service — a splash of prosecco for us and juice for the kids as we enter, really engaged staff — conversational, delightful, attentive. My daughters(3 and 6) were dancing to the music and the bartender and manager joined in. It is a joyful atmosphere. Excellent food — consistently delicious Florentine flavors gently intertwined with global influences. We’ve eaten here four times so far in two weeks and everything has been great. They also have a children’s menu that doesn’t undermine children’s desire for flavor ;-) Beautiful! Elegant and still family friendly — The space is gorgeous — wood, welded metal, glass and concrete. Comfy couches around low tables and large farm tables in the back so it’s great for groups or an intimate dinner. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. We’ll probably go back a few more times before we leave.

Ouch. Recommended by the Concierge Nicholas at Hotel Cerretani Firenze, I expected delicious Tuscan Food with a modern twist. What I received was the opposite. At check-in you are offered a free glass of Prosecco while looking into a beautiful dining room. But beware, this dining room is not for you! If you drink the free wine, you are diverted into a tavern to the left with hard wooden benches. After feeling obligated to stay from the free wine, you choose from a traditional Italian menu which includes many vegetarian options. We purchased a seafood ravioli, a crab pasta, and a side plate of grilled vegetables. All failed. The seafood ravioli was over cooked, soggy, and a mess of flavors. It was garnished with an over cooked prawn. The crab pasta was served with a crab cracker and pick for no reason at all. The tiny legs were soft as if they had been cooked days ago, and the soupy sauce was not good. The grilled veggies were old. Soft, cold potato slices, unseasoned zucchini and eggplant, and other unmemorable additions. There are many other options in Florence. I recommend you do not go here.

Over the top service Our hotel recommended this place as reasonably priced and a local favorite. We were pleasantly surprised at the level of service and our dining experience It went like this We arrived and were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne while our table was prepared. Once seated our wine orders were taken and then we ordered appetizers while we further enjoyed the wine and the evening We had both primo and secondi, which we shared(2 plates each course among 4 diners) For each course they reset the plates and cutlery. Prior to the primi they also served us a complimentary veggie dish We had octopus, caprese, their Konnubio pasta(highly recommended), seafood ravioli, and 2 of their daily specials, which were steak with truffle or green peppercorn(also highly recommended). We were too full for dessert but were given complimentary homemade limoncello and cookies. Total bill with 2 bottles of wine was 175 euro, for 4 diners We left filled and satisfied, and hope to return again

Came here for the buffet breakfast 7 – 10:30. The servers were incredibly nice and gracious. The food was good, hard boiled eggs, assortment of cold cuts, cheese, pastries, cereal, yogurt, etc… The owner was so sweet to make my kids a hot chocolate, with foam, and a pretty design on top. The décor of the place is amazing, straight out of a restoration hardware catalogue. They obviously spared no expense with the furnishing and décor. I was taking notes for my own home.

Been here with friends, the place is great, it has been refurbished recently, the service is very nice. Food is quite standard, nothing bad but neither great, and of course being places 30 meters away from Piazza del Duomo prices are not exactly friendly(if you are a local like me), but more targeted to tourists. Nothing obscene, but I felt that the quality/price mix is a bit unbalanced.

One of our better finds in Florence. We had wine and cheese but the service was absolutely incredible. The food menu itself looked good but again we had the cheese selection and couldn’t have been happier. A definite must for wine and cheese

Love at first sight, love at first bite. This sums up my experience at Konnubio. A love so real, I had to return for dinner just two nights later! If you’re vegan: they have you set with really delicious options that are clearly marked. If you’re a vegetarian: have at it with the upscale/creative Tuscan-inspired concoctions that involve dairy. If you’re an omnivore:(according to my dining companion) you are so very lucky because you have an entire menu of options that are sure to set your taste buds on fire(such as wild boar pasta). I love restaurants like Konnubio because they accommodate everyone quite well. The atmosphere is upscale/classy/romantic and this is not the norm for vegan dining in the world at large. In New York City and San Francisco, yes, of course you can find atmospheric veg restaurants, but otherwise you’re used to dining in a brightly-lit joint decked out in lime greens and blonde wood, complete with uncomfortable chairs, the distinct scent of wheatgrass permeating throughout. Not that I mind this if the food is excellent, but come on! Let me get my fancy on sometimes! /rant We discovered Konnubio at the end of our visit in Florence on a Wednesday evening(though they serve until 11ish, I wouldn’t expect to come in at Midnight for dinner, so these hours listed are incorrect). No resos, but they sat us immediately in the candlelit dining room off to the side of the bar. God, it’s gorgeous here! Referring back to the menu that’s online, I see it’s not up to date, so this must mean they change it seasonally, which of course is a great thing. I’d go ahead and order whatever seitan dish that’s available, because they do magical things with the wheat meat. On my second visit, I had the vegan eggplant parm and it was tasty, but not as good as the ‘real’ deal(I cut my teeth on eggplant parm and I’ve yet to find a vegan substitute that’s just as good). Going with their creative dishes rather than vegan versions of classics would be my advice. But I daresay you probably can’t go wrong here! I absolutely adored both ladies who served our table. They were so helpful and sweet, plus one of them went out of her way to give us the Florentine version of what we call«lagniappe» in New Orleans(ie, a little gift) at the end of the meal(sweets, limoncello and Del Capo, a Calabrese apertif that she insisted we must try and I really did love it). There you have it. I love Konnubio to death. You may be thinking I’m prone to hyperbole, but that’s only because I do my best to convey my love for places that deserve your business.
