This is rated highly but it shouldn’t be. The people are nice, but the service is ridiculously slow, for some reason our table with only two courses took a full hour longer to be served. The food is very mediocre at best. We saw the steak roll by and that did look good. It also looks like you are in the basement of a brightly lit Elks lodge. Don’t waste a dinner in Florence here, take it from me.

Very good food/slow service. No Amex! Arrived at 7:30 Friday night. started out with good but ended with slow service at end. I ordered prefix of ravioli, caprese and pudding. All very good for 18 euro. Hubby ordered steak… thinking ordering a small but charged 38 vs 40 euro for large. That plus a crostini(just ok), bottle of water and bottle of house Chianti came to 98 euro. But I must say we waited 30 –45 minutes for check. And we were out of wine! Boring. Low stars for svc.

My husband and I live in Florence six months a year, and I’ Toscano has become our ‘go-to’ restaurant. When we just want a good meal, good service, good wine and pleasant atmosphere this is where we go. I’ Toscano is not one of those trendy restaurants that is overrun with tourists. They serve genuine Tuscan fare done very well. The staff(mostly family) are friendly and warm. This has been the family business for many years and they love to make their guests feel at home. Without a doubt, the food is delicious and the wines which mainly come from smaller vineyards are superb. All the friends we have taken to I’ Toscano have returned on their own because they really enjoyed their experience.

First of all I really would like to say that the food here is really wonderful. Home made, really fresh and genuine Italian food. We went there because we needed a restaurant near our hotel because we were a bit tired to went further downtown, so we looked on Unilocal for some trattoria or osteria nearby. This one only had one review but it was 5 star so we decided to check it out. We were a party of four with 1 baby and we ordered all different plates. The veal was really good but the ricotta dumplings with truffle sauce was really something. The deserts are marvelous, especially the red fruits panna cota! I really recommend this typical Italian restaurant

We had an amazing dinner here last night. We arrived just as they opened, as we had been walking all day and were very hungry. We were seated immediately and given menus. A few minutes later the waitress took our drink order-a bottle of Prosecco and two bottles of water. We opened with the pear and Parmesan salad and it was HUGE, fresh, and delicious. I then had the risotto and it was also a very large, tasty portion with bits of asparagus. My wife had the ravioli and liked it. For our next course, I had the stuffed zucchini and it was AMAZING. My wife had the eggplant parmesan and it was delicious as well. We finished the meal with cappuccinos. All for less than 80 euros.

Best in Florence! It‘s unassuming from the outside but don’t miss this gem! Everything we ordered was superb… ravioli filled with cheese and pear, pici with bacon and cheese sauce and a beef stew that broke apart without using a knife. We ate as slow as we could just so it wouldn’t have to come to an end. The waitress was lovely and spoke good English. The ambiance was great– comfortable, a bit rustic. All this and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend it!

Lovely, family run restaurant. Try the salad with pears and pecorino cheese, the eggplant Parmesan, and the pasta pockets with pears and pecorino. Delicious!

My family just had dinner at l’Toscano. I ordered a one kilo Florentine-Style T-bone steak to share with my wife. It was soo good that when may son and daughter tasted it, they kept asking for more portions. We are from Chicago and we know great steaks. This is definitely one of the best I have had. My daughter had a Picci pasta and my wife had a homemade sausage and they enjoyed to too. This is the best restaurant we have been to in Florence after spending 4 days.
