Totally relaxing oasis in a crowded and bustling neighborhood. We stayed just around the corner from here in Florence, and after several days of afternoon Negronis in street-​side tables, it was a delight to find this spacious, soothing place with personable service and comfortable chairs. The owner/​operator is a charming host and the drinks were always terrific. He knocks big chunks of ice off a solid block behind the bar, so the ice melts very slowly and doesn’t dilute the drink! Not a lot of food selection, but tasty crackers with the drinks made this a wonderful place for apertivo time.

We enjoyed some fantastic chocolate drinks after an amazing dinner down the street. Very «chill» place. Loved the ambiance and the drinks and chocolate did not disappoint.

Beautiful hipster-​friendly small intimate– atmospheric place to grab a hot chocolate, coffee or dessert. I finally decided to stop by and check this place out one cold Sunday evening. The location is a little hidden, close to Piazza Carmine and you could miss it if you weren’t looking.
When you enter inside the place indeed keeps up to it’s complicated namesake. Books line the wall for anyone to grab, small tables and low lighting. A chocolate heaven awaits you as they serve all sorts of chocolate truffles and cakes. We both ordered hot chocolate which the only downside being the price. I was pretty shocked to see hot chocolate with a cost of 6 – 8 euros, really! It was really good but still, ouch! With the price of two hot chocolates and cake we could have eaten lunch at chicco di caffe ;-). I actually hate myself for liking it because honestly, that price for hot chocolate is ridiculous.
We ordered a cheesecake with strawberry topping which was very very good. I have heard that their crepes are also phenomenal and they also serve wines and cocktails. I would definitely bring someone here if they wanted an off the beaten path kind of treat in Florence which sure enough, is in the oltrarno.
