Paolo and Giorgio are the young owners of this new cooking school and event space in Florence. I discovered them through The Florentine and held a big party here without even tasting the food before reserving — and I was not disappointed! Paolo helped develop a sophisticated and ample fusion menu combining Italian specialties and traditional Japanese dishes, in collaboration with the owner of a Japanese store down the street. We also took advantage of the consultancy of Pam, barwoman at Colle Bereto, who chose a cocktail to match our menu and gave Paolo the recipe for our event. The day of the party, we spent the afternoon together setting up and decorating the space. Paolo was available for any and every need. As guests arrived, there was plenty of room for their coats. Everyone was really impressed with the location, food and service. The Food Studio is a hybrid space. Cooking school with a tuscan touch most of the time, the idea is to have a supper club here in the evenings. Their website has a calendar of thematic dinner dates and you can sign up alone or with a friend or more. A concept that is very Londo but has yet to hit Florence, I think it’s going to be a big success.
