A good, inexpensive, quick sandwich place. The bread is OK, not the most amazing I’ve had. I ordered a veggie sandwich(grilled veggies with olive spread) and, while it tasted good, I would’ve like a higher ratio of filling to bread. I also felt like it was very greasy without necessity. It was a good lunch on a chilly day, but I don’t think I’ll be coming back here soon.

Arrived at the burger spot at 9:45pm, well in advance of closing time. Came here primarily because of the great reviews and the insane number of choices on the menu. If I had known what I know now, I would’ve skipped the«experience» altogether. Upon entering the place and taking a seat the gentleman behind the counter said that sitting down was not an option as they were closing soon so we had to do takeaway — again, there at 9:45. We placed our order and waited. Obviously since they were closing it took longer than usual to prepare the individual items and as a result the meat was well overcooked. Which to be honest was a shame because the meat tasted great just over done. Also the bread which seemed great was not properly warmed and as such was crumbly. I’m giving this place 3 stars as no restaurant should serve mediocre products. And closing or not is no excuse, if you’re open, put the same effort in as if I’m your first customer or your last.

The sandwiches here are delicious! Definitely get one with the grilled zucchini and eggplant. It’s worth it. And the hamburger at first sounds maybe too American, but it’s done in a very Italian way. This place is cash only, and incredibly close to the Duomo.

My girlfriend and I wandered in just wanting some house wine and a snack. What we got was not only a fantastic meal and wine, but great kindness from Massimiliano and Marco. We walked in to find Massimiliano and his family eating. We ordered a liter of the house wine and a charcuterie board with some awesome meats, cheeses, and crostinis. Totally affordable and yet super tasty. Then, a good experience became a great one. I think Massimiliano is the owner of dal Barone because he kept going in and out of the kitchen to get his family some food. As he brought out a plate of crostini, he caught me eyeing the food like a testosterone-filled teenage boy gawks at a beautiful woman. He laughed and then offered us some crostini with brie and artichokes, some type of grilled beef with tomato… a sweet and savory concoction of cheese and honey on crostini… the list goes on… I have pictures. All I know is… it was awesome. He kept feeding us extra food and it was great. Then Max and his family left, and we talked to Marco behind the counter and chatted about English language versus Italian, Italian dialects, vocabulary and linguistics, sights around Florence, etc. And we didn’t have a lighter for Marco, sorry Marco. Not to mention… The food we ordered was actually awesome. Looked like they had a wide selection of paninis and sandwiches too. Go to dal Barone, stop in, get a drink, food and enjoy.
