Alberghi: De La Ville

Un hotel de 4* superior que realmente lo parece. El vestíbulo de entrada ya te deja ver que no estás en cualquier lugar de mala muerte camuflado en una puntuación de estrellas pasada de fecha, y el personal que atiende el mostrador es terriblemente educado y eficiente, probablemente la mejor atención que he tenido nunca en un hotel.
Las habitaciones estaban bastante bien, eran suficientemente grandes como para tener dos camas individuales separadas y que se pudiese desplazar uno tranquilamente; el cuarto de baño también era bastante grande y estaba muy nuevo. Lo único malo es que había algún tipo de defecto estructural que hacía que, cuando pasaba alguien caminando por el pasillo, temblaba ostensiblemente la habitación entera. Esto era particularmente desagradable por las noches, claro.
El desayuno-​bufé muy adecuado también, con sus cereales integrales, sus yogures desnatados y un montón de cosas insanas que no probé demasiado porque sabía que, si lo hacía, estaba perdido.

Large, clean rooms. Lots of closet and drawer space which is nice when you’re in Florence for a longer period of time. The staff speaks English well and are very helpful. The breakfast selection is nice, though if you want eggs other than scrambled, you’ll need to pay for them.
There are only two downsides. The first is the bed. The bed springs were shot, making for a very bouncy bed, however this didn’t wreck my back like I thought it would. I only had a sore back once or twice the week we were here and it wasn’t that bad.
The second, although minor, is annoying: you need to stick the key into a slot to turn on the electricity in the room. This is pretty common in the US, however what’s not common is that taking the key out also turns off all the outlets. In other words, you cannot charge your electronics while you’re out of the room.

My mom and I loved this hotel. A great location near the center of the city.
We stayed in Summer and it was HOT and HUMID. The air conditioner in the room seemed a bit tired, but it was a game changer. There’s no way we could have gone without it.
The toiletries provided were lovely, and the room was always clean when we came back from a day of exploring.
There was a terrific free, full on breakfast, and a great cocktail hour.
The staff all spoke great English (lucky for us) and were very friendly.
