I know now why Copenhagen airport has often won airport award, that’s because most of airports in Europe are pretty sad looking like this one. You would have thought that Milan — being a fashion capital of the world — would have more fashionable airport, right? You’re wrong. Milan is served by two airports, the bigger Malpensa and the smaller Linate. Malpensa is a dreary airport with 80’s marble look that can be compared with people wearing blouse with shoulder pads in 2015. This place lacks charm. With the Milan Central Station is so majestically built and so modern inside, this airport feels like a bus station. Sure, it might be a busy one with lots of gates, but there aren’t many eating places or shopping places inside — which is a major shame considering it is Milan after all. The duty free shop(Dufry) though was good — despite its being small, they offered Italian specialty products — with inflated price compared to the city’s price labels obviously but it’s useful if you forgot to buy some little gift for your friends in town. Olive oil? Check. Pasta? Check. Ham and cheese? Check. Italian stuff. Now they only need to keep up with the shopping and eating.

one of the most worse Airports I know. Old, long ways, dark… there are a lot of places on earth I would like to stay — not here. small security area, but large halls above… Long ways from check in to gates. Nice to have free wifi… but that slow that you also could send data via normal post. Useless.

Flight delayed fortunately there is free WIFI to keep entertained. However there is no water in the WC’s and most of the taps both before and after security apart from one tap that has a tiny trickle of water, I dread to think of the number of unwashed hands!!!
