Preludio is all about providing the customers with a lavish experience where traditional aspects of Italian dining will never be forgotten. Every dinner begins with an apéritif, in our case a glass of rosé, and ends with a digestif, limoncello or grappa. The waiters are very polite and dressed sharply. All of the food was great. Each dish is composed with multiple elements adding flavor and color. The starter plate of foie gras and Guinea hen was a delight. With so many tasty sounding options on the menu, it was hard to decide what to order. Dessert was equally as impressive, a layered chocolate mousse plated with fresh berries. The only confusing aspect of this restaurant is that the ambiance needs some more thought. The tables are very close together creating a seemingly crowded dining room. Every table is also adorned with odd, quirky figurines. We had a pair of ceramic dogs wearing sweaters and beanies staring at us during dinner. It definitely doesn’t fit the sophisticated feel of the restaurant and I’m not sure what it should say about the character. We could have used a little more variety in background music as well, instead of an entire evening of Frank Sinatra.

Food and service is amazing. We went 2 nights for dinner and met 2 other couples who were vacationing in Cortona who did the same. The wait staff and chef made the evening of my fathers 80th birthday extra special. The food is perfectly seasoned, very creative and presentation is fabulous. They also have and can prepare gluten free plates for celiacs who have to be careful. They very much understand sans gluetini

This is the finest restaurant I have had the good fortune of dining at so far in my almost 3 weeks of touring Italy! Everything was 5 Star; food and service the absolute BEST!
