Guty E Simone

When my wife and I (two Americans) decided to get married in Italy, I didn’t really worry about the travelling, logistics or documentation issues that were bound to cause a headache — my biggest concern was music. I would categorize my passion and knowledge of good music as moderate to vast and therefore, having an excellent set-​list of live music was an essential aspect of my wedding. Guty e Simone were among the first bands I found that advertised their services. While I did contact a number of musicians, Guty e Simone were among the most responsive and professional in their correspondence. Most importantly, they provided a selection of 10 pages of songs they could play for the event. Queen, Roy Orbison, Van Morrison, Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, Chuck Berry, CCR and Old Blue Eyes were among the names on the list. To have those hits played live at a villa in Umbria would be amazing! In addition to the reception party, we also wanted a light cocktail hour of easy Italian music, which I was also able to select from their list. Finally the selling point — they would also learn to play a song of our choice.
On the day of the wedding, I was VERY uneasy about the fact that I wouldn’t get a chance to meet them until I actually showed up to our villa for the reception. At that time they were to be set up and playing for the cocktail hour. Sure enough, when we pulled up in our little red Fiat 500, there they were — out on the lawn and playing beautiful Italian music for our guests on a sunny June day in Umbria. It was an amazing intro for our reception, but the best was yet to come. Following the meal, they played our first dance song via my IPod over their perfectly sounding system. Then Guty e Simone hit every song I had pre-​requested perfectly. Finally, as an avid Ryan Adams fan, they learned «Firecracker» as our song of choice, and as a surprise to all, I learned the harmonica part to play with them. I was a little worried about not EVER having rehearsed this with them, but we nailed it, mostly because Guty e Simone had learned the song perfectly.
Guty e Simone were friendly, professional and talented. They were among the top vendors that made our wedding an absolutely wonderful event. So long as you have a group of people that will dance, Guty e Simone will play — and it will be a wonderful night. Worth every penny, you should not hesitate to hire them for your event in Tuscany or Umbria.
