Bellagio silvio

The Silvio is located south of Bellagio on the road to Como. It is also listed in the ‘Osterie d’Italia’, a slow food travel guide and definitely fulfils expectations!
To have an unrestricted view from your table over the opposite shore of Lake Como I recommend making a reservation in advance.
The menu lists typical Italian fare and I highly recommend ordering the fish ravioli in sage butter, the veal, and fish of the day. I easily could have returned every single night since the view is stunning, and the food unbelievable!
In summary Silvio is THE restaurant you shouldn’t miss when in Bellagio or the Lake Como region. However, the drive to the restaurant might be a challenge for some travelers since we are talking a ‘one-​lane’ two-​way traffic road for US standards that even freak out European drivers!

Ristorante Silvio is both a restaurant and a small hotel which we stayed in for a very comfortable four nights in October 07. The hotel rooms are small but spotless and very comfortable with en suite bath rooms. We had a room with a small balcony and an amazing view over Lake Como, definitely worth paying the supplement for a lake view.
The restaurant itself is renowned for its’ fresh fish, caught by the owners themselves and then beautifully prepared and cooked the same day. We had half board for our visit which included a set menu, just a couple of choices but still of a high standard.

Das Restaurant des Hotels isr bei den Einheimischen sehr populär, was nicht nur daran liegt, dass es keine große Wahl an Restaurants gibt, sondern auch weil der Blick aus dem Speisesaal spektakulär ist Denn das Hotel liegt am Rand des Lago di Comos.
Das Essen war fantastisch zu vernünftigen Preisen.
Die Pasta waren al dente, das Risotto mit Limonen, Parmesankäse und Trüffeln ein besonderer Genuß.
Nicht zu vergessen, daß der Besitzer jeden Morgen auf den See fährt, um zu fischen. Der Fisch ist ein besonderer kulinarischer Genuß, auch wenn er in Ravioli verarbeitet wird.
Der Service war von guter Qualität, und der Eigentümer sehr nett. Mit unseren italienischen Freunden gelang es uns, eine Führung durch den guten Weinkeller zu bekommen. Und selbstverständlich liess es sich der Besitzer nicht nehmen, uns als Dank für unser Interesse eine Flasche unseres Lieblingsweins zu schenken.
