Nice food with big portions especially the calzones(they’re HUGE)! Great location with a nice breeze on a hot day. Good service. Only complaint is that despite the no smoking signs in the restaurant, I saw the owner or manager and waiter smoking while working!

Stopped here for late afternoon lunch at the recommendation of our tour guide. Great prices. Standard fare with good taste and very accommodating to families with children.

Average sized portions, food was barely average + but be warned, waiters seemed a bit aggressive, pushing drinks and desserts. In summary, in the sea of tourist restaurants in the Plaza, this is a safe bet for pizza, I wouldn’t venture past that.

We visited Barbarossa while on a day trip with a big group in Capri. The food was pretty good, and the service was great. I had their Spaghetti with Bolognese sauce and thought it was good. Also for dessert, they brought a dish which I didn’t know the name, and I thought it was excellent(picture attached). They were even able to make a pizza with no cheese for my wife, and they didn’t even get mad at her for asking for such a dish.

Surprised at the bad reviews. We really liked it. Delicious food, in the middle of tourist ravaged Capri. I got the spinach gnocchi with seafood — perfecto. Also, for the quality and quantity, we paid substantially less than we would in America.(That’s been our general experience throughout southern Italy… and we live in one of the cheapest US states. Making a mental note to feel ripped off at Tennessee restaurants from here on out once we return.)

Our tour guide recommended the place so yes it is a tourist trap… but so is the whole island. That being said, it was overall pretty good. Good for groups, quick to be seated, good vegetable pizza, my friends enjoyed their pasta with oysters. Tourist prices but not terrible

This was the second time here for Christa and the first time for me. When she suggested we eat here, I checked for a review on Unilocal and saw 1-star, but I trusted her opinion so off we went. It was early in the day so we were able to get a good table right next to the window looking down on the piazza. The staff was very friendly and spoke good English. We had a couple draft beer with ravioli and capricciosa pizza. The pizza came in approx 5 minutes and the ravioli soon after. Both were well prepared and tasty. We almost stayed for another beer to enjoy the weather and people watch, but we got going with our sightseeing. The bill was € 36, and when I left 40 on the table, they return 5 just to be convenient and not worry about the € 1 difference. Not what you would expect from a place that caters primarily to tourists. Not sure why the previous reviewer had such a bad time, but we will recommend this place to others for it’s convenient location, very good service, good food and that fact that it does NOT behave like a typical tourist trap. Note: if you want to find the other review, it comes up as under Italian, but is actually written in English.
