Milese

I loved the Milese focaccia — the best one! Must try it together with Sardinian beer. Of course you can also get an excellent Italian coffee. The restaurant suits for all tastes, all ages and all thicknesses of wallets. Excellent place for breakfast or lunch. Milese is located in fantastic place — just at the opposite side of the yacht port and tirquoise see.

When visiting Alghero, this is the only place we come to buy the best focaccia (€ 2.50) in town.
My favorite is focaccia del milese: two slices of crunchy bread filed with a layer of fresh tomatoes, a layer of tuna, hard-​boiled egg slices, a few anchovies, a layer of arugula salad, a layer of thinly sliced onions and, a layer of pancetta. You can ask without pancetta or onions if you’re not a fan.
The lines can get very long, but it moves pretty quickly. Pay first and they will call your number which is found at the bottom right of your receipt (the number after — n. scontr fisc).
They also have outdoor seating available which is also nice for a morning coffee and pastry.

Just the best place for lunch. The focaccia sandwiches are absolutely delicious and at time of writing only € 2.50 each. We plan to return tomorrow.

Wonderful café with fresh tasty focaccias and salads.
One focaccia is 2.50E at the time of writing — at first, I couldn’t believe the price; one gelato costs more in some parts of town, and you actually get fresh café food of great quality for the price. Salads are around 6e, additions and table service cost a bit more.
Some tips:
–Yelp shows correct address but incorrect location. Use map to find Garibaldi 11 address.
–Yelp shows this place as very expensive, it’s quite the opposite, very cheap, E instead of EEEE.
–It’s usually full and service is slow. You are much better off ordering at the counter.

Einkaufen, einpacken, auf die Befestigungsmauer zum Sundowner hinsetzen.
Diese Focacceria ist ihr Geld alle mal Wert, alles andere kann ich von den Vorrednern nur bestätigen.

Die Bar Focacceria Milese liegt direkt am Hafen. Wenn man nicht etwas blödes tut und versucht mit dem Auto in die Altstadt zu fahren (was geht, aber einen Starfzettel gibt) dann kommt man auf dem Weg zur Altstadt hier vorbei.
Natürlich kann man auch in der Altstadt essen, aber die Restaurants dort sind dann schon etwas teurer, wenn nicht gar Touristenfallen obwohl sich hier auf Sardinien die Preise noch im Rahmen halten — sogar Nepp ist hier noch erschwinglich.
Egal — ich will ja über die Focacceria berichten: Hier gibt es — Überraschung — Focaccia. D.h. Italienisches Fladenbrot mit verschiedenen Belägen (Mozzarella, Thunfisch, Schinken, Pesto, Salat, Tomaten etc.etc.). Man kann hier im urig-​typischen Innenbereich oder zum Hafen hin auf der Straße essen — oder seine Focacce mitnehmen (das wäre meine Empfehlung).
Die Focacceria wird hauptsächlich von Einheimischen frequentiert.
Alles dort ist frisch zubereitet und allein vom Zusehen bekommt man Hunger! Die Preise sind moderat (genau kann ich mich nicht mehr erinnern). Die Portionen sind groß.
Die Sticker an der Tür, die die Focacceria über die letzten 10(?) Jahre durchgehend als Bar dItalia xxxx auszeichnen, legen nahe, dass die Focacceria kein wirklicher Geheimtipp ist.
FAZIT:
Typisch, lecker, fairer Preis, machen!

The bar focacceria Milese exists already since 1971 it has a very long tradtion. The owner has won already several awards with his focaccie. The most popular variety: Coppa, tuna, anchovy, rocket, tomatoes, onions, hard boiled egg and a special sauce with olive oil. All the other types can be recommended as well. You go to the desk, get your sales slip (scontrino) for the meal, the beverages will be served right there, and pay the bill. Then you choose your Focaccia. Price last time still under 3 Euro for a Focaccia. You can have a seat inside or outside on the terrace with view of the port.
