The three stars is just for the unreal carvery! Always tastes fresh and hot. Corned beef pulled apart and melted in my mouth. The cabbage is the best I’ve had and the potatoes are always crispy (they have to be crispy for me!)
It’s ten euro for a large dinner and the portions are too big to finish. The reason I didn’t give anymore stars is because the place is very old and cold. The parking is terrible as the location is smack bang in the middle of walkinstown roundabout. It’s Abit dark and damp inside and the staff aren’t the happiest. On weekends it can get fairly packed and it’s hard to find seats so get in early if you want to see a match. But if you want a really good Sunday lunch it’s worth the visit :)

I’ve been in better pubs. It’s a local pub with live music, however the place gets really crowded and you can’t barely have a conversation, besides that I just didn’t think their beer selection was that vast, I have experienced better, it’s ok for a local pub.

So I’ve noticed local stealing of chefs… anyways the one who does the good gravy appears to be in the Kestrel now, which is handy for me since I moved. Standard carvery here is 10.50 and its a plate full of stuff. They also do lots of cake — which is a plus. Decorwise its your standard suburban Dublin pub… they’ve done up some bits, but other bits have your old man vibe… which is kind of the charm I guess.
There’s a place to sit outside if you enjoy freezing your arse off and looking at a roundabout. Can’t complain!
