Acercarte a la playa de Sligo, en Strandhill, merece la pena no sólo por las espectaculares vistas del lugar, y las diferentes rutas que puedes hacer por la zona, sino ademas para tomar algo en este coqueto restaurante. La calidad de la comida es excepcional, la cantidad muy adecuada y los precios inmejorables. Los mejores fish and chips, que he comido nunca. Todo lo hacen ellos, el pan, las tartas… Su lema lo dice todo: «We don’t make fast food, we make food as fast as we can». Ademas si te quedas en las mesas de fuera, tienes unas mantitas, para resguardarte del viento. Ya sabéis, si os dejáis caer por estos lares, sin duda shells es parada obligatoria.

Shells is a welcome sanctuary from the wild winds of this little seaside town. Great home cooking which is guaranteed to warm your cockles after a brisk walk on the beach. Everything on the menu is made fresh daily onsite and is always served up with a smile. I have sampled everything from the sandwiches served on pillow fresh bread through to the famous fish and chips. Whatever you are hungry for Shells provide a substantial supper. Don’t even get me started on the cakes — if you cant fit one in don’t leave empty handed — believe me you will regret it — get a sweety to take away. All the cakes and slices are delicious as the view.

I love Shells, the food, the décor and the friendly staff. Their regular menu items are great. Love their burger and my husband loves their fish and chips. I am always tempted to try the specials. The shop is great too with unusual stock. There is only one problem with Shells, it can be very noisy at times.
