A nice restaurant and bar around the corner from UCD. I’m always entertained by the smoking area, adorned with safari animal decorations(and a polar bear, if I’m not mistaken?). We either get seated in the smaller restaurant area or at the tables around the bar area– they’re both fine. My personal favourite is the fish and chips, followed by the bread pudding for dessert! Proximity and deliciousness = checkmate.

Was there for the rugby match today. Super atmosphere, great staff and excellent food. Lots of TV screens to watch the match both inside and outside in the smoking area but what a pity about the result IREvARG :-(

Did some Unilocal research and came across this lovely place! Thanks for all the previous reviews for helping my husband and I make the decision on coming. We both had the sirloin special with the peppercorn sauce, it was the best meal we have had! When we come back to Dublin we will definitely stop back by!

Had a very pleasant lunch here with my Dad. The place was jammed out with locals for their lunch and some business things but the staff were very good, we weren’t in too much of a hurry but they were very attentive. We each got a stir fry, mine with chicken. The plate comes out sizzling and the portion is enormous! And it’s absolutely delicious. The noodles are nothing you couldn’t cook up yourself at home but go very well with the sweet and sour style dish. Just spicy enough, lots of meat but also lots of lovely crunch veg, with the perfect amount of searing. The cappuccino I had was very tasty too and comes with a Bewley’s biscuit– nom! Excellent place for a tasty lunch.

The lasagna was ok. It had some sort of a white cream sauce in it that I didn’t care for. The burger was a little too thick but otherwise has a good flavor. The sirloin was awesome. Very tender and the gravy was great! We would come back again to try new things on the menu. Prices were ok. Not too cheap but not too pricey. Servers were very friendly. It was nice.

My husband and I visited here for Sunday lunch and the atmosphere was great, the place was busy, match was on and it just seemed a very happy place. Staff were very friendly. My husband had Lamb and I had the roast beef, either was very nice. We met the boss lady Jenny, very pleasant girl. Highly recommend it.

Sometimes, when you are with family members — who want nothing more than a simple carvery — you rack your brains trying to think of somewhere half-decent, that will suit all and sundry. The Goat is not one of them. The food is bland, the staff aren’t altogether pleasant and for the price you’d get a lot better elswhere.

The Goat in Goatstown. I love it. Food is great and really friendly staff. Service is great and really large outdoor seating. I strongly recommend curry chicken or beef, but i didn’t really care for their appetizers.

Charlie runs the best bars in the capital bar none. When it comes to watching sport and enjoying good pub grub — Mr Chawlke excels. Unsurprisingly, the Goat Grill has loads of large screens which can be seen from wherever you are in the bar. What’s more is that the pub always has the perfect level of staff to deal with fans en masse for every large sporting occasion. All fed and watered. Keep it going Charlie.

Previous reviewers have mentioned that this is a Sporting Pub and that is absolutely true — especially when it comes to horse racing. Of course Charlie Chawke owns a leg of some nag called Paddy the Plasterer which is apparently a horse that goes a little faster a little more often than the other horses. Combine this with the fact that there is a Paddy Power outlet(or inlet) in the car park this makes for a dangerous place to be during Cheltenham and other such meets. To see punters galloping across the car park clearing the bushes gracefully with less than a furlong to go to the Paddy Power cash till is a sight to behold! But, and this is a big but, when there is no sporting event to fill the place it is very quiet. I have been in there on weekdays when there have been no more than 20 people on the premises. Now this may well suit you but for a quiet pint there are better more comfortable pubs around!

The best sporting pub there is! This is owned by the well known Charlie Chalke(who was shot in the leg outside this pub a few years back!). Before I describe the pub itself I will say that this pub actually did once house a goat, her name was Gertie and she was released into the wilds of the Dublin Mountains at some stage but her statue remains outside the pub! Anyway I said this is a sporting pub, it’s great for watching games on the big screens inside and the atmosphere is brilliant. It even has Jack Charlton’s famous tweed cap! There is also a big support for Sunderland because at one stage the owner had shares in this football club. They do food in here too, everything from dinner to sandwiches to finger food. Great for however hungry you are feeling!

Great sports bar, with actually sports start here, last time I was sat beside Damien Duff! Sunday lunch is great here and great value, they the full roast dinner, you will not be disappointed! They also do lasagna, fish and steaks, which are all great! They show all the big, and not so big sporting events on their many big screens and there is a great atmosphere here and lots of people so show up early when Ireland are playing to bag yourself a seat!
