History

Established in 2003.

Noël’s father originally operated Anderson Smith Butchers from the same premises for over 50 years.

Andersons — Old ShopThe premises, built in the 1930s, underwent a major design and refit in 2003 but retains many of the existing fine architectural features including the façade and the original tiled floor from the Butcher’s Shop, giving it the atmosphere of a ‘bouchon’; a butcher-​cum-​restaurant typical of the French city of Lyon.

The design incorporates a large deli counter, gourmet food and wine store at the front of the building with seating for the café extending into two rear spaces, Jazz music in the background, with regular live sessions, adds to the atmosphere. Wood and marble furniture throughout is both stylish and comfortable.

Two outdoor patio areas under canopy have also been added. The floor to ceiling oak wine shelves, which make great use of the original high ceilings; magnificent light fittings and stone and oak tables and chairs complement the character of the bui
