Excellent food, my wife tried the onion soup for starters and thought it the best she’d ever tasted.

Best fish n chips I’ve ever had. The fish was fresh, lightly breaded and perfectly crispy on the outside, and warm and flaky inside. I chose the garlic chips and was not disappointed! They were also perfectly cooked. Proof that excellent quality didn’t have to cost an arm and a leg.

Great restaurant for a good price. I came here alone for a quick bit and to read the paper. The service is good. The food is delicious and is a large portion. I paid only 12 euro for a grilled Salmon dish with salad and fries. I couldn’t even finish it. Great place! I would come back for sure.

Cool quaint store with cheap tasty options. The prices here were unbeatable in Galway and the service was very friendly. I ordered fish, onion rings, and a fried mars bar with a glass of milk. I wouldn’t recommend getting the mars bar just for yourself. It’s so rich that you could share it between three people and still be satisfied. I think the fish here is better than a lot of the other fish & chip places in Galway, the onion rings surprising were average.

This is a strange takeaway /restaurant. The interior definitely needs a fix-up, the seats are very cracked etc /wobbly. From the interior you would think that this would be a cheap take-away of low quality. But the food is somewhat better than that. I had cod, chips and curry sauce. The cod was delicious as good as any expensive restaurant, really light batter and a good chunk of it too. That’s quite a feat for a takeaway. The curry sauce was pretty nice too, a good quality chip shop sauce. However the chips were not great, they were very over cooked. Don’t get me wrong they were edible with the curry sauce but were not up to scratch at all. I did arrive very early on a Tuesday so maybe the chip production wasn’t really stated up correctly at that point. Service was ok, the clientele in Galway can be a bit interesting. One woman decided not to have her cheeseburger because it was 5 euros and decided to shout that across the whole shop in a sarcastic voice. Then I had to listen to her baby bawling constantly for the next 20 minutes while her friends ate there 5 euro cheeseburgers! They were all OK with that and just left the poor mite to his bawling. I’ll definitely be trying it again though it has promise!

Best fish and chips in Galway? Perhaps. Small but perfectly formed. There’s not much more I can add. I’ve been a regular at McDonaghs over the years also, but this really raises the ante for casual fish and chips: quality is excellent, fish is cooked to order and is most definitely fresh, place is tiny but seems to fit quite a few people when needed! Great place, lovely fish and chips, and great value.

Super friendly service. The grilled salmon and fried cod were top notch. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that there was something off about the oysters. Strangely creamy and tasted off. I wasn’t able to eat them. Looking back though I’m sure if I said something that the host would have replaced them. All around very good though!

Quite a lovely stop at the end of a day of exploring the scenic city of Galway. Prices are quite reasonable and the fare is perfectly cooked and delicious. After passing up most of the seafood joints that seemed overcrowded, we found this little gem and were definitely not disappointed. I’ll be recommending this place to my parents on their upcoming trip!

Real seafood in a modern, clean chippy! I got an open crabmeat sandwich and garlic cheese chips. The chips, well they were chips! The crabmeat sandwich was unreal, really good and fresh tasting. Unfortunately the girl working at the counter couldn’t tell me where the crab and seafood in general came from but I can’t really blame get for not knowing, I worked in a chippy before and couldn’t tell you where anything came from. I would give it 5 stars but for this little fact and the prices are a little high.

I cant stop thinking of the food at this place! I had the Grilled Salmon & chips. This was so so tasty and the chips were spot on. My Friend had the Burger with a salad she claims it is the best burger she has ever eaten in Ireland and as for the salad you would not get it in a restaurant as good, I commented to the waitress who said they use Farmers market leaves!!! This really is a cool spot clean and trendy nice atmosphere for casual Dining. Will have to return to Galway again to try the Lemon sole and monkfish!!!

I nice little fish and chips place. Quite modern/stylish and very clean. My order of fish and chips was freshly made, so the batter was nicely crisp and thin(and not«armored» as my gran calls the more wideley available variaton). A nice selection of fish choices as well as chicken, chargrilled burgers, chips, sausages and a wide selection of sides. The dessert menu offers a battered mars bar. If I hadn’t been so full I might just have tried that for the fun of it, weird as it sounds. Recommendable place, just at the south end of the main shopping areas of Maingard and High St.
