Marks & Spencer Simply Food

Does exactly what it says on the tin, all of the thrills of the M&S food market with all of their foodie loveliness without any of the boring clothes or home ware.
I love it!

M and S is a great little store, and seems to have remained constantly busy where as other supermarkets have gone bust around them.
Because it is M and S things are always going to be that bit more expensive, but for the most part the extra cost is worth it, their food is awesome.
This store is especially good if you are looking for some form of prepared meal, not the best when it comes to loose fruit, veg etc, but still has an OK selection given the size of the store (which is pretty small).

Okay I know I may not have been overly complimentary about M & S before and saying how expensive they can be but when you know you are going to be housebound for a while they are great!

Marks and Sparks is anything but simple

In an effort to compete with the likes of Spar, Centra and Dunne’s food-​only stores, Marks and Spencer has opened up a bunch of these «Simply Food» outlets that sell, well, food.
We were roaming around Dun Laoghaire one afternoon and realized we were dying of hunger. We needed something quick and easy and M&S was right there. They have a little where you can get a sandwich, salad or wrap, a bag of chips and a drink for 4 euros. A lot of the stuff that was part of the deal was all gone, so we ended up with this strange salad that consisted of a little bit of lettuce, carrots, corn, baby prawns and loads of thousand island salad dressing (that pinkish stuff). We also picked up a ham sandwich for 1.50. The chips and beverage were ok, but the sandwich was probably the worst I’ve ever had and the salad was gross. Other options looked a lot more appetizing…
The rest of the store is great though. They have a selection of all the stuff you’d need to grab in a hurry, from prepared foods to beer.
