History
Established in 1661.
Established 1661, the current interior dates from 1897 and is regarded as one of the finest examples of a Victorian bar in Dublin of which there are only a few remaining. The bar features a unique cash booth and original cask dispensing system as well as the original beer pumps. The bar floor is mosaic and has a huge level of craftsmanship. The building is incredibly historic having being used in 1916 Easter rising, the War of Independence1921, and the Irish Civil War in 1922. The façade of the building was restored in 2012 and brought back to its former glory.
