A really cool, trendy place to waste a few hours for wine. A great people watching place. Lovely wine and staff are very knowledgeable. Looking forward to going back for their € 50 for 4 people roast with friend’s. yummy!

Great spot in Ranelagh. Nice ambiance, friendly staff and the prices aren’t too bad. We got a nice seat by the window which was great for people watching on a Saturday afternoon. Definitely going back!

My go to place when I’m around Ranelagh! Lovely atmosphere, lovely wines and fab cocktails. They have small terrace upstairs in the back for the smokers amongst us. I never had a meal here, but I did try the eton mess, which was in one word: heaven in a glass!

I had dinner there with a friend a few weeks ago on a Friday night. PLACE Nice décor, cosy without being cramped. Careful however if you find yourself at one of the high tables near the bar: the people getting a drink while waiting to get seated tend to overflow into your dining space. We had a party of four very loud people standing a few inches from our table. Not very comfortable. FOOD We decided to share the cheese platter and the meat platter, with a side of chips. Those last two were lovely: plentiful, tasty, nothing to report. The cheese platter was a bad surprise: there was just a very small wedge of camembert, a slice of manchego and a dollop of blue cheese. That’s not much for 14,95 euros, is it? Also they don’t have bread, only crackers for the cheese. We used some of the toasted sourdough on the meat platter. Thank God the chocolate fondants for dessert saved the day! WINE Excellent choice and excellent advice from our waiter. 10⁄10 on that one. SERVICE Smiling, helpful, fast. Perfect. All in all, I’d like to try the place again with a different table and different dishes from the main course part of the menu.

I LOVEITHERE!!! I mean, for a little bit the original location on Exchequer St. was my favorite cocktail bar(Before I discovered Upstairs) but then I found this little gem… No you wouldn’t come here to really meet people but if you’re looking to find an extensive wine list by the glass to accompany some great nibbles this is the place to go. The Christmas lights gives it a romantic vibe so a great place to take a date. I actually prefer this location now over their flagship bar. It’s nice and quiet and still offer the whole«ledger of liquor» from their sister bar. Definitely worth a visit… and glass of wine… or two… or three… Who’s counting?

I have been here few times and love their cocktails, specially the merengue one,(very fatty) it’s a whole show off of fire flames around the place,(I’m joking, it’s not around the whole place, but there is some flames, small flames but very entertaining) and the smoky whiskey cocktail served on a giant ice ball… I’m telling u, their cocktail list is all about showing off. Love it. Mel is the girl behind the bar, she is a such a lovely and smiley girl. So, u should tip her well ok. I’m not mad about the food that they serve, there is nothing wrong with it, but it’s just not my type.

Great addition to ranelagh with fantastic wine list and a great brunch menu and terrace, love coming here at the weekend for their lighter take on Eggs Benedict. Also have great value € 7 brunch cocktails.

We received a gift card here from a friend and glad we did. Didn’t know they opened this new location in Ranelagh, and probably wouldn’t have gone without the gift card, but it was very good and glad we went. Sorry I didn’t know about it sooner. It is a bit of a tapas style place, with small plates that are good for sharing and having some drinks. They have a huge wine, cocktail and beer selection and the food was pretty good too. We had jamon and cheese croquettes(that weren’t half bad), fried chorizo lollipops, bruschetta(which was also good), and a charcueterie plate. A little on the pricey side, but good food. If the weather is good, which it was when we went, they have a little upstairs terrace that is nice.

Very elite vibe which is grand considering it’s Ranelagh. Great wine selection too. However being accustomed to the amazing selection of food in the original Exchequer the offering here is very sparse in comparison and you really pay above the odds for it. Maybe it’s to cover the expensive and impressive fit out, Ranelagh rent prices or maybe they just assume folks out that way will pay above the odds for tapas style food and still leave feeling hungry? Needs a lot of work still to understand their audience. They do have a lovely rooftop deck though that’ll get some use this summer for sure!

The Exchequer has expanded its well-known gastro pub with a new satellite wine bar in Ranelagh. The«trip» out was a great reminder that Ranelagh is just a simple cycle or quick trip form the city centre. The interior is beautiful with a rich, dark wood bar alongside the sleek and classy dining areas. This spot was bustling on a Friday evening(an older crowd), and reservations are recommended. The variety of seating options include the main floor, an upstairs small and inviting bar, or the manicured terrace great for the long Irish evenings.
For me, a wine list of over 20 is plenty of option, the wine list provided was extensive, with something near 100 bottles available. Small plates and boards are my fav, so that is what I was really excited about. Simple and average is probably the best description I can provide for the cheese and meat board selections, a little overpriced. The boards did arrive just as listed on the menu, yummy fig chutney, three cheese pieces, few grapes, and few crackers, just not something I could get excited about. On the plus side, ingredients were fresh. The bread and dips platter was the best choice, with warm mini loaves baked to order. Again, no smiles as the beef carpaccio was not seasoned well. The meal wrapped up with a quality, but timely cocktail. The cocktail encyclopaedia style menu is always fun to read. Unfortunately, ordering a classic cocktail not listed requires a 15 minute wait. To end on a good note, the ordinary experience was made more enjoyable by the friendly staff!

the food was actually quite good — we shared plates of tapas — but it was unreasonably pricey! the antipasti plate was approx. 30 € — and wasn’t even enough for one person. I would recommend to come here for a glass of wine, but don’t order food if you’re not willing to pay a fortune.

Brilliant atmosphere, carefully selected wine list with wines from all over the world, original and exciting cocktails and delicious food. Great for couples or small group gatherings. The place is tastefully decorated, with a great smoking area and top notch service.
